Me remembering im gonna be 16 this year and being excited and then also remembering thats one year closer to being an adult and having to pay taxes, get a job, and stop having fun and make my life miserable bc adults having to act grown or they get flamed, and then I started spiraling that ima gonna hate life and am never gonna get anywhere in my adult life ⚆_⚆

so, i live in australia and i work at a uni campus three days a week

there are campus cows, lots of kangaroos, and apparently deer (but i haven't yet seen one)

also, a variety of lizards, possums that are for some reason out during the day and NOT afraid of people ??? and several species of fuck-ass birds that swoop you in spring

last week, someone came into their office to find a snake (a red-bellied black to be specific, and yes, it's venomous)

there are also spiders, like... everywhere... mostly harmless but some are the size of my fucking hand. there is a guy in my office dedicated to removing large ones from the bathrooms so i can still pee

and what's wild is i'm barely regional! i'm only like an hour from sydney city

i just wanted to share to let y'all know that i'm out here fighting for my life and you know what? australia is kinda cooked

So my parents make me facepalm so hard sometimes I went to lunch with a male friend on Monday and now all of a sudden my parents are like "well who is he? What's he like? Are you guys dating?" 1st of all, no, we're not. 2nd of all, why is that one of the first things they feel the need to ask? Can't I just go to lunch with my friends? Isn't that a normal person thing to do? They tell me I need friends and a life and when I get some then they think that it's not just friends??? Can someone explain to me why they assume I'm dating all my male friends when I've never had a boyfriend (or a girlfriend)??? Honestly I don't understand parents sometimes. My dad says to me tonight "So who is this boy you and your mother have been speaking about?" And I reply with said boys name. And he says "and who is said boy?" And I'm a smartass so I said "who is he as a person? Who is he to the universe? To me? What do you want to know?" And then he said "I want to know why you're being so evasive" *facepalm* *deep sigh* Me: not what I was trying to do he's just a friend that I have a class and homeroom with. (But seriously he's probably one of my better friends partially because he treats me like a person and he fought me for the bill at lunch)
