Sugarpaw of ShadowClan

Sugarpaw, formerly Sugartooth, was a loyal warrior of ShadowClan for a long time. That is, until later in life, she took on the role of a healer apprentice. They wanted to further themself from bloodshed and violence, but their tumultuous relationship with StarClan plagued them. Eventually, it led to them falling back into an old mindset, attacking another cat, and resulted in her being demoted back into warrior status. However, they didn't remain as a warrior long before a reminder of her past entered their life. After another brawl, this time with a clanmate, they were demoted to the status of an apprentice. They have remained one for the past 4 years, stubborn in their mindset of being unable to change for the better.

Smooth jazz, looking out a rainy window, grayscale, and monologues. This fella is a classic film noir detective! He takes himself and everything WAY too seriously and is obsessed with "discovering the truth." An incident with a Goshawk (he named 'Lady Nightshade') gave him the scars on his back when he was an apprentice. Though he has since grown past that trauma, he has learned he's not the invisible detective he pretends to be. A fun fact about him is he follows a different religion than Starclan. He belongs to the Graveyard Cats, a religion focused more on spirits and the balances of nature. PS. he's a total WifeGuy ™

Asphodelcrown was raised believing that Shimmerstar and Fawndance were her biological parents, but as an apprentice learned that Anemonetail had given them up and didn’t want much to do with them. This lie has had a chokehold on her as she struggles to figure out exactly what family means to her, which has certainly become complicated with the addition of her younger adoptive siblings. Asphodelcrown tries to contain the anger running through her veins but she it’s only a matter of time before she snaps…

Grottoblaze of ShadowClan

Grottoblaze joined ShadowClan several moons ago with his best friend, Coyoteflicker. The two had been loners for some time, and Grottoblaze much preferred a solitary life; Grottoblaze doesn’t really get along with other cats, and his intensely insecure, standoffish nature means they don’t get along with him either. After Coyoteflicker’s untimely death due to disease, however, Grottoblaze has felt more resentful of his clan than ever; surely, it was living around so many other cats that made Coyoteflicker sick in the first place. It’s been moons since then, however, and Grottoblaze is just starting to come out of the fog of his grief. He has now met two cats who (though he may not know it now) will greatly change the course of his life; Fenheart, a confident and charismatic tom who Grottoblaze currently can’t stand, and Sereinlull, a kind and gentle soul who is perhaps the first cat since Coyoteflicker to ever really connect with Grottoblaze. The three young cats’ destinies are intertwined like bramble, and Grottoblaze, unbeknownst to him, has a lot of change ahead of him.

Whiplash of RiverClan

Whiplash is a Riverclanner by blood, but with a past kittypet lineage. They're an Oriental Shorthair who was previously a skilled Waterweaver, and currently acts as a Monarch. They love to swim, and love kits even more. This feline is for sure family oriented, and with a huge family comes a huge family den. They worry all the time, and are always concerned for their family. However, Whiplash is a more laid-back parent; they always encourage their kits to come to them for absolutely anything, at any time of the day or night. They will always be a shoulder to cry on.

Dawnlight of WindClan

Dawnlight is one of the original knights, which now seem to have spread across the entirety of the four clans! The knights are an order of cats who place selflessness and the protection of those who need it most against the forces of evil above all else; though the knights do not operate in any official capacity, it has become a set of ideals many cats have taken and shaped to meet the needs of their own clans. Born from a cross clan relationship between Owltrill of Windclan and Lupinespire of Shadowclan, Dawnlight his brother Duskhaunt, as well as his sisters Lunarecho and Nocturnecall joined the world in a cold den during leafbare under the trees of fourtrees. The litter was split between the couple and did not learn of their cross-clan heritage until they were nearly apprentices. Dawnkit's young life was shaped at the height of the wolfdog plot many years ago, comforted by stories of knights who fought monsters by a River clan cat named Oleanderburn. Little did this cat know how far spread his stories would go, and who it would shape beyond these two young souls. At a young age he won a sparring tournament during the daylight gathering against cats much his senior; later in life he did not preform as well. Even now several years from his loss he carries this in his mind as motivation to continue to pursue improvement in his talent for combat. Now past his hundredth moon the knight maintains his quest to protect his clan against any evil that might threaten it, and trains each apprentice entrusted to him with the dedication his own mentor Pipercry once did; all the while he does his best to keep his cross-clan blood a secret to all but his most trusted friends and the previous council who have kept their secret. Dawnlight does not carry shame for his blood, but a desire to keep his parents and siblings safe from cats who may not look as kindly on their situation.

Only 12 days until Secrets of the Clans is open for new members! Today we're going to be getting to know some of the ShadowClan cats you might meet upon joining!

Russetstar LEADER - 86 MOONS - SHE/HER art by; phrögMütt Russetstar is the proud leader of Shadowclan. A traditionalist sticking closely to the Warrior Code throughout her life, the queen had a track record of acting in an uncompromising manner, a trait which has slowly lifted as she’s learned her understanding of the world may not be complete, and that adaptation is necessary. She’s an incredibly hard worker and strict to her sense of duty, even at her own detriment. Shadowclan means everything for her so she would lay it all down for her home.

Shadetalon DEPUTY - 106 MOONS - HE/HIM The current deputy of ShadowClan is a senior tom named Shadetalon. This massive, scarred tom is known for his intimidating presence, but don’t let his cold gaze fool you. While certainly rather serious, deep down the ShadowClan deputy is a deeply caring and protective tom, loyal to his Clan and the code above all else. That being said, rumor has it he's a bit too close to a certain RiverClan tom he insists is simply his best friend... However, Shadetalon has three grown kits with his mate, who was once his childhood best friend, so certainly the rumors are only just rumors. Either way, no cat could doubt his work ethic and conviction to serving his Clan above all else.

Noctule's Wing HEALER - 96 MOONS - HE/HIM Once displaced from his home, Noctule's Wing holds much nostalgia for his original home and their ways. Having had a rough start in ShadowClan's midst, he's resistant to conforming to the Clan's ways and finds most comfort in the midst of other healers and his family. He most often wears a practiced calm, easy look to him in hopes of putting others at ease.

Pipistrellepetal HEALER - 59 MOONS - SHE/THEY/AER/VAE No matter what clan you're from, Pipistrellepetal is happy to help! This shadowclan healer who hails from the far off mountains is known to be Kind and a bit Scatter brained at times. Ae does worry often and works day and night to ensure the health of aer clan! Pipistrellepetal has a wonderful mate and five lovely kits! Despite her friendly air vae have yet to make too many friends outside the healers' den, but maybe soon they'll be able to make more!

Vividskies HEALER - 49 MOONS - HE/HY Mender of broken bones as well as a source of broken hearts, Vividskies was a bit unconventional of a pick to join Shadowclan’s team of Healers some twenty moons ago between his cross-clan heritage and capricious personality. While his only known parent Flurryfall isn't too fond of his antics, hys twin brother Quartzshard (both available as adopts) has only contributed to the chaos. Vividskies is a tom who prefers to spend his time on poetry and playing to hys whims over the politics of being a council member. Thankfully his skills in healing make up for it, though said whims have certainly gotten Vividskies in trouble before. At least hy now seems to be on the straight and narrow… things will be fine so long as no one finds out about his two mates in Thunderclan, right?

Flame's Light HEALER - 46 MOONS - HE/THEY Flame's Light is a red sepia lynx point with classic tabby stripes and chestnut brown eyes! Some other notable features are his sharp, overgrown canines and a mane of fluffy starting at his back leading up to his head! They are one of the healers of Shadowclan, starting their training very young at 6 moons all the way to gaining his name. He's an... interesting fellow, to say the least, and seems more focused on business than more casual activities. He is relatively polite, though, even if that thousand-yard-stare in his eyes might signal otherwise.

Sugartooth HEALER APPRENTICE - 114 MOONS - THEY/THEM A snappy old albino cat known for their short temper and fierce protectiveness. Sugartooth has seen ShadowClan through thick and thin, for better or for worse.

Applewish HEALER APPRENTICE - 32 MOONS - SHE/HER Daughter of the deputy, Applewish grew up wanting to be the best- and now that she's been given a second chance to become a healer, she's striving towards that goal harder than ever. Her ego can get in the way of her relationships with others, and she has a tendency to get snippy when tested, but she means the best for the clan.

SOTC will be open for new members March 6th! We started our countdown yesterday with ThunerClan, and today's spotlight is going to be highlighting WindClan's council!

Whisperstar LEADER - 160 MOONS - HE/THEY Whisperstar, the towering leader of Windclan has made himself a home among the moors over the years. This has not always been the case! Much of the old leaders life before was spent as a loner. Joining under the light of the full moon gathering many seasons ago, starclan sent a sign that he would take on the mantle of leader after cougarstar who stepped down as leader. Once seen with suspicion as an outsider; Now adays he is regarded as a wise and steadfast leader. Oldest of all the leaders, he has made his fair share of mistakes, scars which decorate his pelt are reminders of the lessons hes been forced to learn as leader. Will you become one of Whisperstar’s beloved clanmates, or will you join your clan under the full moon to meet this old tom? The choice is yours!

Shrikestorm DEPUTY - 96 MOONS - HE/HIM Shrikestorm is WindClan's dedicated and loyal deputy. Once a trouble child, and a warrior who was quick to anger, Shrikestorm has become a much more level-headed deputy. He is more than willing to give his life to protect his loved ones - even going so far as to take the front lines during WindClan's battle against the vicious wolf-dogs, taking the brunt of the attack in order to keep his clan mates safe. In recent moons he has discovered a softer side as well, taking in a foundling kit as his own. Now his adopted son, Solarpaw, has become a healers apprentice, and Shrike couldn't be more proud. The only thing missing from his life now seems to be a mate - someone to love and accept him, scars and all... But perhaps a certain blue-furred tom might be just what he's looking for?

Beetlenose HEALER - 87 MOONS - SHE/HER Beetlenose's is WindClan's eldest healer, and the longest standing healer in all the Clans. With her experience has come an intense sense of responsibility to others and to the code. Despite this, Beetlenose generally comes across as relaxed and warm, even in times of great pressure—a helpful trait for a healer who has had to deal with plenty of serious injuries and illnesses across the territories. When it comes to things she's passionate about, she can be headstrong or even vicious should the need arise. Her role is evident on her pelt in the way its white parts are often tinged green and orange and yellow from the herbs she works with regularly. These patches complement the black parts of her pelt, which range from large black splotches to the freckles on her paws and face. Beneath her pelt she is sturdy, though tall. Her eyes are the same orange as a marigold flower.

Morningwatcher HEALER - 62 MOONS - HE/HIM Morningwatcher has served WindClan diligently for seasons as a Healer, his time as a part of the council is second only to his former mentor, Beetlenose. He is a caring, genuine cat who loves his Clan as much as anything—he trained for moons, after all, to learn how to heal them! He may reprimand clanmates who have taken unnecessary risks or neglected their injuries, but it is usually with firm, yet gentle words. You’re likely to find Morningwatcher in and around the Healer den, active at the first light of dawn, or he is out gathering herbs for the stores. Always feel free to come to this cat when you’re in need of healing!

Ghosthowl HEALER - 53 MOONS - SHE/HER Ghosthowl is a striped orange and grey molly with a well-built frame. She dons sabertooth-like fangs, and a limp hind right leg. She's a very solitary cat, but she scares deeply for her clanmates and their well-being. Her determination carries her strong in her line of work, and she keeps her chin up and head steady in difficult situations. She's very blunt in her words, however don't let that deter you! She can be a pretry sweet feline when one manages to break through that tough shell.

Nightsage HEALER - 50 MOONS - HE/HIM Do you wish Ravenpaw had stayed in the clans? Introducing Nightsage, a stray 'encouraged' to join WindClan by some wolfdogs. He then joined the ranks of healer, though like any good doctor he's proven himself to be a terrible patient. Nightsage isn't afraid of a little blood, but he is leery of just about anything else. Nervous by nature and even moreso with StarClan's words and weight on his shoulders, he has a tendency to pretend to be a shadow when no one is in need of herbs. If you really want to find him, ask his half-sibling Salmonswirl.

Cloverdawn HEALER - 35 MOONS - HE/HIM A rambunctious kit grew into an sullen teenager before finally blooming into a relatively soft and easy going little dude. One of Windclan's younger healers, he's grown up through some rather difficult times. Still, because of his loving and supportive family, he's stronger for it. Even if he does think that having four separate clans is silly.

Moonshadow HEALER APPRENTICE - 51 MOONS - HE/HIM Born to a large, loving, family, Moonshadow ended up finding his way to Wind clan in interesting times for the clan, itself. Throughout the changing course of recent history, though, he has consistently worked to help out his new family, in particular good friends, as much as he could while learning the ways of the territory and the clan itself. It is just the nature of things for one, such as himself, who thinks before they leap in practically everything they do in their life, whether it be relationships, mentoring, or the simple act of living day to day.

Solarpaw HEALER APPRENTICE - 15 MOONS - HE/HIM/THEIRS "I'm destined for greatness," that's what Solarpaw would have said if you met him a few moons ago. Now, he's a little less arrogant and a little more exasperated with the world. Before being chosen as a healer apprentice, Solarpaw found himself aiming his sights on the future deputy position, despite his fear of brawling. It didn't take long for him to abandon that dream entirely once the healers offered him a chance to work with them, though. His arrogance has since faded, a bit, leaving behind a snappy and candid young wildcat with a penchant for creating new idioms when faced with a challenge.

Spiderpaw HEALER APPRENTICE - 9 MOONS - HE/HIM Spiderpaw is a shy but determined little guy. As he grew up, he was immediately battered with two different cases of sicknesses, which led to him falling behind his siblings and denmates as they all trained up their skills, all while he was forced to stay in the kit den to sleep the sniffles off. This even led to him graduating from kithood to apprenticeship way later than everyone else as well! But luckily, his paws were directed towards the path of being a healer, and now he works hard to learn everything there is to know about herbs and healing-- and he's beginning to let go of the feeling that he has to keep up with his peers, and can just be himself.
