So apparently, the French Audiovisual superior council has told the TV commenters of the Olympic Games that their comments were misogynistic, sexist, perverted and racist... Thanks to people reporting them on twitter and internet! Well, that's a good one. Too bad it took them so long before reacting.

LES PREMIERES MEDAILLES FRANÇAISES...

Marie Bochet s’est imposée sur le Super G féminin devant Solène Jambaqué au terme d’une course où leur principale rivale, Andrea Rothfuss est allée à la faute.

Solène Jambaqué, en s’élançant en dixième position s’est d’abord emparés de la tête de la course avec 1 »99 d’avance sur la deuxième. Marie Bochet, déjà sacrée en Descente a dans la foulée amélioré ce temps de 2 »00 avec un chrono à 1’24 »20.

Ces deux médailles porte le total tricolore à quatre dont deux titres de Marie Bochet.

Heartwarming Olymipcs Stories

Figure skating: One skater fell really badly after trying to land a complex jump, slamming not just downwards onto the ice but into the side barrier around the rink as well. He hit his head and hip quite badly. You could just see his face change into the expression “this cannot be happening”. He somehow got back up and it looked like he was skating off to the exit but he got back up and continued skating the rest of his program. The best bit? He got his confidence back and did well enough to get through to the semi finals.

XC: One skier with a really good chance at winning the Men’s 15km Classic took a huge fall a mere minute and a half into the race. When he got back up, it was obvious one of his legs was hurt and he couldn’t skate properly. He kept going, just skiing by himself as he was well behind the main group. At about halfway, going down a small hill, he fell again just as badly and one of his skis snapped in half. He picked himself up again and one of his coaches brought him a new ski. He kept going. By the time he reached the final stretch, still limp-skating along, it was several minutes after the leaders but the crowd was cheering him so loudly that he was on the verge of tears as he crossed the finish line. 

Aerials: A 34 year old mother in the Women’s Aerials made the top eight final along with three Chinese who were the favourites and the Australian gold medallist from Vancouver. Just before she jumped, those were the top four going through to the superfinal. She set off, flew through the air and landed perfectly. She qualified fourth and knocked out one of the Chinese. The commentators called it a miracle, it’s her fifth Olympics! She went first in the superfinal, doing a less complex jump and landing perfectly. She then watched the remaining three competitors all screw up their landings. At her fifth Olympics she got her first medal - a gold - and the first gold medal for a woman from Belarus.

More Aerials: A school teacher from Australia was told he wasn't good enough to go to the Olympics. He made it there anyway and won a silver medal.

Snowboard Cross: One woman is known for painting a moustache on her face to bring herself good luck for every race. She didn't crash once and won the gold medal.

Skiing: A man married to a Russian girl got rejected for the US Olympics team. He switched nationalities and has now won two gold medals with his new home country.

JEUX PARALYMPIQUES DE SOTCHI 2014 : Suivez l'actualité des Jeux avec Vitalliance.

Après une superbe année 2013 où l’équipe de France d’hiver a glané 12 médailles dont 7 en or lors des mondiaux de ski alpin, l’année 2014 s’annonce pleine d’espoir avec comme événement majeur les 11ème Jeux Paralympiques d’hiver, à Sotchi du 7 au 16 Mars. Retour sur la préparation actuelle de l’Equipe de France Paralympique.

Juillet 2007, Sotchi est élue ville organisatrice des Jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques d’hiver 2014. Un défi d’envergure pour cette ville, située en bord de mer et à proximité de la chaîne du Caucase, qui a tout à construire. Le village Olympique et Paralympique a déjà pris forme et de nombreux aménagements pour accueillir les athlètes et les spectateurs en situation de handicap ont déjà été effectués (chambres PMR, balises sonores aux feux de signalisation, accompagnement pour se déplacer sur le site, etc.).

Du côté sportif, tout le monde est en ordre de marche pour faire de ces Jeux une grande réussite. Christian Fémy, directeur sportif du ski handisport, finalise le programme de préparation des 13 skieurs qui seront à Sotchi. L’objectif fixé à l’Equipe de France : au moins 2 titres et le maintien dans le top 10 mondial des nations. Un objectif ambitieux, en lien avec la nouvelle stratégie mise en place récemment par le Directeur Technique National, Jean Minier, avec le Ministère des Sports et de la Jeunesse, pour développer le très haut niveau au sein du mouvement Paralympique.

Actuellement en course dans les étapes de coupe du Monde, la composition de la délégation Française qui s’envolera pour Sotchi sera annoncée le 10 février 2014. Elle rentrera rapidement dans le vif du sujet avec un stage de préparation du 17 au 21 Février à Chamonix pour le ski alpin et du 15 au 21 Février à la Feclaz pour le ski nordique. Le grand départ s’effectuera 3 jours avant la cérémonie d’ouverture. Une cérémonie et une compétition qu’attend avec impatience Vincent Gauthier Manuel, porte drapeau de la délégation française, lequel a déjà pu apprécier la qualité des pistes de Sotchi: « Nous avons eu la chance de tester certaines pistes de Sotchi lors des Pre-games qui ont eu lieu l’année dernière et j’ai adoré ! ».

Cette année, pour ne rien manquer des exploits de nos sportifs Français, un dispositif exceptionnel est mis en place par France Télévisions avec plus de 60 heures de directs. France 3 proposera également un résumé complet de la journée dans son magazine Tout le sport à 20h.

Rendez-vous donc le 7 mars (Cérémonie d’ouverture) pour soutenir toute l’Équipe de France Paralympique d’hiver !
