Lena Meyer-Landrut, known just as Lena, is a German singer and songwriter. She rose to fame after being chosen as Germany's entry for the 55th Eurovision Song Contest (2010). She sang three songs for the contest's finals, and all three managed to top the German iTunes Store sales chart and all three were in the top five of Germany's singles chart, setting a first ever record. The most popular out of the three songs was "Satellite". Lena later went on to tour Germany and performed in the largest concert halls. She also competed in the 2011 Eurovision contest to attempt to defend her title. In September 2012, Lena released her new single "Stardust" then the album followed in October.
I listened to "Satellite" first (because that was her most popular song), but I actually wasn't too impressed with it. Maybe the style just didn't catch my eye or something. But then I listen to "Stardust", and I immediately loved the drum beating in the instrumentals and Lena's voice. As more and more were added to the instrumentals, the song became more and more upbeat. And I really like this song. It's just a really catchy song and a really good song. I like the rock-ish and pop-ish feel but at the same time it's still sounds like a softer-styled song (like it's not too instrumental heavy).
I'm starting to notice that I still like the more pop-ish songs, even if I try to listen to more acoustic songs. Maybe I'm still too used to the more mainstream styled songs. Or maybe I'm not the type of person to go on to like really indie songs? Or maybe there's some other genre of music out there I haven't heard of that I'll like. Eh. I dunno. We'll see what other songs I can find.
But, at least for now, I'll be listening to this song along with "500 Miles" and other Tanlines songs. I think those are my favorite songs so far.
