Karpalundsdammarna - Karpalund ponds

Karpalundsdammarna – Karpalund ponds

Today I was with a friend at the Karpalunds ponds to check bird life. We had been to the Hercules ponds before and there was not a single bird! On the Karpalunds ponds, it was not much better. Three bird species turned out, Coot, Red-necked Grebe and a mute swan family with seven kids!

Now many chickens have been hatched. The only ones I've seen are geese and coots kids.

Now many chickens have been hatched. The only ones I've seen are geese and the little cute coots kids. When I was at Hercules ponds, I saw a family in the big pond. The last post was from the smaller pond that is more reborn. An adult and a little kid were together.

Fler sothönor – More coots

Nu har många fågelungar kläckts fast de enda jag har sett är gässlingar och de små söta sothönornas ungar. När jag var vid Hercules dammarna så såg jag en familj i den stora dammen. Det förra inlägget var ifrån den mindre dammen som är mer igenväxt. En vuxen och en liten unge var tillsammans, de andra var inne i vassen och lekte. Föräldrarna matar ungarna med insekter, säkert vad denna sothönan…

Today I was out on the Hercules ponds to see what it was like with bird life.  A happy surprise was that the family coot have got kids, very cute downy balls.
