                             He-llo, stars! I thought of something that might                                    make for some interesting research…?

      words that echo throughout his mind like an old memory come back again. this city       was an enigma to him and even a month in has left him with more questions than       answers. who built this city and where it was located was unknown to him, but the       why at this point seemed to have become clear as day to him.

                          this city was built to serve as an experiment                                   it is a cage and we the lab mice                              though for what reason is still unknown

      he does not know why he was not affected by whatever the wave was, but the more       he explored the city the odder the situation had become. panic set in with many of       those he saw, others seemingly younger with tempers that differed from normal. he       is calm and collected, for he could be nothing else to analyse the anomaly which has       struck this city, but observing would accomplish little in the end. time and time again       he was asked by others where they were and why but all he could do is tell them       where. having seen enough he would finally approach one that looked just as confused       as the others, if not more.

            ‘ my child, what do you last remember? ’

                            how often would such a thing as this be an occurrence?                                   i am not affected now, but would i be next time?                                      this city is far too dangerous to be left alone

            There’s a strong breeze across Spirale today. His robes fluttered to the direction of the current, a mild source of summer warmth that kissed his cheeks. There were no crowds or gatherings to damper the wind down - after all, little would ever choose to visit the rooftops.

            His eyesight has been, unfortunately, crippled by his arrival. Where he used to be able to ascertain each detail of a city from a vantage point, his vision could only reach but a selection of it. Most of his gifts were taken away (A small blessing, a voice in his heart would mutter) save for Agni Gandiva, but they could not take away his archer spirit. The habit to ascertain unknown terrain was ingrained in his instincts, years of experience that has helped him survive in his travels.

            Not least of all, Arjuna has always enjoyed the view of the horizon. A precious gift that is unlike any other.

            Which is why the rustling of tiles has surprised him, somewhat. Not many would think of climbing up walls and jumping to the top of houses, after all. Immediately his usual guard was up, and he was once again ready to greet another stranger.

            “I wasn’t expecting company. Do you come here often?”

ah, so it was pride hm? that seemed to fit the bill, as it were. his bloody past was etched into his face ( a nasty scar, once upon a time perhaps ) but those eyes. how intriguing. they burned into fyodor & he continued staring back, plum against that dark gaze. “ ahh, that’s too typical of you hardened-looking types! your suffering has defined you, why not embrace that and continue crawling on your knees through life? “

this’ll probably all change after befo*re the dawn comes out fully but i’ve been hinting that sun is an orphan. he’s not one to carelessly lie, abandon his family or leave vacuo for no reason. and still, he doesn’t do any of those things. 

         when sun says ‘ i go where i’m needed ‘, he’s speaking from experience. he left vacuo to attend haven -- mistral’s huntsman academy but if there was anything left in vacuo that needed him there, he would’ve stayed. sure his cousin, starr is there, but she can fight -- she was trained to do so. how about the rest of his clan? they don’t know how to fight and aren’t the least bit interested in learning. wouldn’t sun have wanted to stay to protect them? that’s the obvious choice after seeing his interactions with his friends, how selfless he can be. no amount of family feuding could change his decision to stay and try to help, but he doesn’t. one thing sun can’t do is bring people back from the dead, and he no doubt feels guilt because of it. leaving vacuo might’ve been the ‘ easier ‘ way out, to avoid the loss of his parents and his clan.

         and because he knows loss like the back of his hand, he doesn’t want anyone else to experience what he went through. unlike his cousin who opens up a dojo to train people to fight, sun goes off to become a huntsman so he can protect people himself -- so that he isn’t tied down to one place, so that he can actually ‘ go where he’s needed ‘.  

         there’s no helping what happened to him and his blood family but to sun, family isn’t necessarily blood and home isn’t necessarily four walls. the people he’d do anything to protect, fight alongside of are his family and he’d do anything he can to prevent another loss.
