Hey! I was wondering which iPad Pro you have and whether you've completely replaced the traditional laptop with your iPad? I ask because I'm thinking of investing in one, but not sure whether its worth it.. please let me know, thanks! 💛
Hello! I have the largest version of the iPad I believe it is the 12+ inch version? It is my go-to for school work. What I like about the iPad Pro is that it is much lighter- about 3 lbs to 4 lbs max- than my MacBook Pro and slimmer meaning it fits into my backpack nicely. I also like the touch screen and the Apple Pen is truly a lovely feature. When I write notes with my iPad I use the Apple Pen to write them in a note app. I use OneNote by Microsoft because it is very user friendly.
There are of course some flaws. One of the biggest in my opinion is that using Google Drive/Docs is very difficult because it doesn’t showcase the breaks in-between pages so it’s nearly impossible to tell how many pages you have. It is also more difficult to switch in between tabs.
However, the keyboard is also a wonderful feature and as I stated above it is incredibly lightweight. As somebody with back problems, carrying the iPad Pro around instead of a heavy laptop is a no brainer. Apple is working on creating a new IOS update that will make it easier to switch between tabs and work spaces. If it truly does make it easier to switch between tabs and work spaces, then I really have nothing to complain about when it comes to the iPad Pro itself. To me, the iPad Pro was a wonderful investment. I use it almost every single day in school, especially for theatre projects where I have to sketch set designs.
I have not replaced my laptop completely simply because I am also into the arts and I do take an “art class” where I require my laptop because it can handle the software better than the iPad Pro.
tl;dr: It is a wonderful investment in my opinion and it could be worth it in the long run to invest in an iPad Pro, however, I have not completely replaced the traditional laptop with my iPad Pro… yet.
