SoulSync (named by Mr. Famous, of course) is a little understood and -documented, but more advanced form of the DoubleSoul: it doesn't require a BattleChip to be stored, it can be activated at any point, it gives an insane boost of power, and it even temporarily breaks the very framework of the Cyberworld upon activation, to devastating effects. For a brief moment during the transformation, the coding of the Net itself believes two NetNavis are currently present with their full power unleashed... so it simulates the effects of that perceived situation. In Torchman's case, this results in a brief, but massive firestorm so hot the flames go beyond their usual yellow coloring and turn into stark white. As a result, SoulSync HeatSoul can only be used once Mr. Match and Torchman made sure no friend or ally is in their vicinity... or that there are no valuable electronics hooked up to the network that would almost certainly get busted. Unsurprisingly, often the transformation itself is enough to finish the fight and sweep away any and all opposition.
However, the price to achieve this awesome power may be too high for most... including Torchman. Had he had any choice in the matter, SoulSync would have not been a thing to this day.
And Heatman would be still alive.
But the kid is gone. Torchman vowed to honor his memory and use this gift of cleansing fire to protect those still here.
