Modern music apps and music finders have no problem actually sourcing out new music.  Artists use them as an outlet to produce music, and since people always want new – the deals seems to work out with both people.  However, this does not mean that music popular in one part of the world is at all relevant in another part of the world.  Typically, music is popularized by area and location.  People in California will likely listen to a type of music that a place like Detroit or Baltimore wouldn’t listen to.  The reverse is also true.  Newer music apps do a better job of not only tracking listening habits – but also the locations of these habits. Odds are, the music you like is also liked by someone who lives locally.  If you could source that type of information for better guesses, everyone wins.  Obviously there is the deeper issue here, and that is one of privacy.  When information is gathered in such a way, it makes assumptions about you.  Often these assumptions is what are used to sell information for targeted advertising.  But still, as a DJ this might often outweigh the potential damages of having your preferences known to the world.  http://djworx.com/moretrax-huurd-music-discovery-djs/
