Nothing can keep us apart
'Cause you are the one I was meant to find
It's up to you and it's up to me
No one can say what we get to be
Why don't we rewrite the stars?
I'm sure that confused you guys a lot, but I decided to make a little post about the playlist I've been building for my AU because why not!
Not all of these make sense nor are they completely coherent but hey! It's a playlist! And you get my commentary in the parentheses. So:
Sign of the Times - Harry Styles (obviously)
lovely (reimagined) - Maphra (it's the "hundred years" part for me)
St. Jude - Florence + the Machine (it's for the girls)
Twist of Fate (Remastered) - Olivia Newton-John (it fits too well guys, c'mon. @dearest-darling-pharma did an edit to this song here!)
Stardust - Lilith Max (vibes)
Love Me - JMSN (Another Iron Lung edit that particularly struck me and is now associated with Simon in my head)
Mr. Brightside - The Killers (vibes again)
Science/Visions - CHVRCHES (this feels like a good song that balances the cosmic hope and cosmic horror aspects)
The Seed - AURORA (Specifically the live version --it's for Simon, guys)
Sinners - Barns Courtney (it fits and who am I to argue)
Remember My Name - Mitski (it's perfect for Simon)
Constellations - The Oh Hellos (reminds me of Grace)
Nobody's Solider - Hozier (another one for Simon -has a line about choosing between a butcher and a pauper)
Enraptured - JT Music (This is the most badass Iron Lung fan song holy shit)
Gilded Lily - Cults (vibes once again)
Love Me To Heaven - The Jonas Brothers (do I know why this is one of my top Bloodymary songs? No, but it still is)
We're Going Home - Vance Joy (this for me evokes the same emotions as the Beatles song in the movie, because I cannot do Beatles music without breaking out in hives)
Artemis - Lindsey Stirling (because very playlist needs some dramatic violin. also it's a reference)
Take Me To Church But It's Epic - Reinaeiry (so much of Simon and Grace's dynamic can be summed up by the vibe of this song, oh my LORD)
Wasted Potential - Reinaeiry (this one is specifically for Grace. Something about the soft, bright pop sounds mixed with the message does it for me)
Drag Path - twenty one pilots (do I even need to explain)
Spaceman - The Killers (fits the mood of the story I'm trying to tell)
Run Away to Mars - TALK (cool space song, also emotional)
Paladin Strait - twenty one pilots (another one that gets me in the feels, this one is for stuff I have planned later)
Come to the Moon - Jimmy Buffett (this could be my personal taste intersecting but it WORKS I SWEAR)
The Cave - Mumford & Sons (IDK where that one edit went but this is because of that. Eva and Grace to me)
Far From Home (The Raven) - Sam Tinnesz (vibes)
Astronaut - Simple Plan (another song about being lost in space)
The Hanging Tree - Hunger Games (Eden nonsense)
Sun - Sleeping At Last (Listen to the lyrics, it's not super subtle)
White Winter Hymnal - Pentatonix (their version specifically!! idk, something something humans make music even in the apocalypse)
Party at the End of the World - Jimmy Buffett (This played on Stratt's Vat, I know, Ilyukhina told me)
This is not everything I've got on there, but it's a nice representative slice and I think the vibe is immaculate. I also left out the parts that only make sense to me, and most of the ones that will only make sense in future chapters. The next part should be out in the next couple days, I just have to make Simon follow the stupid plot outline--
