SoundCloud Secrets: We are Insane/Amazing

Hello. Today I have probably consumed by bodyweight in caffeine. Our site went down around 11 am or so and this makes us all nervous and jumpy and sad in the SoundCloud basement. You see because down in the basement is where the community team lives.

We live here.

If we could sleep here we would AND we would be happy about it. We are the ones in charge of communicating issues to our amazing Community via Twitter, Facebook, our blog, Tumblr and via support emails. We have a peninsula of our own away from the hustle and bustle of the upstairs world that is populated by developers, the Miquarium, a hacker who wears funny shoes and some marketing experts + a ceiling cat that rules us all (all hail ceiling cat). 

So we were all sad down here and very very hungry as today was Masterclass day and we get free Pizza / Pasta on this day - the catch is we have to wait until 1:30pm for the grub and I personally had not eaten breakfast as I woke up on the wrong side of the bed and had to run to catch the U-bahn to be at work on time. So instead of eating anything...I just drank espresso. A lot of espresso. Nervously I consumed glass after glass of dark drippy espresso. I couldn't stop, but I didn't want to.

I think everyone on the Community team was in the same boat as me and being hungry + being jacked on coffee + being stressed out + being crazy individuals in the first place = EXTRAORDINARY IDEAS. So because of the site being down, our masterclass teacher Fronx (who is a developer) couldn't teach the class because he was hard at work fixing the issue. Today in the conference room while we were all sitting around silent, not learning about what Fronx was going to teach, gorging on pizza, Parker and David had the idea to reinact the situation room picture that has been one of the most viewed Flickr photos of all time to explain (/apologize) for the sites downtime - I snapped the picture but the actors are the heros + David for coming up with the idea -you can see the outcome here . 

If this doesn't show how awesome the SoundCloud team is. I don't know what does.
