Test Test... The Sound Museum
Ahoy Ahoy!
The time has come to answer the question on everyone’s mind: “where oh where is The Sound Museum? Did they take our money and run!?” Why of course we did! We took your money and ran… a show!
It has been a while... You look great. Is that a new haircut? Okay, so we have been gone for a while, and we are sorry for leaving you in this nebulous cloud of uncertainty. Our project and its team has seen: house changes, illness, job changes, graduations, laptop explosions, and a whole host of other hullabaloo— and through it all, we stay passionate, dedicated, and chug-chug-chugging along. “Excuses excuses, The Sound Museum!” you all cry in unison, “boo hoo, making art is hard with a day job— tell us something we don't know!” OKAY OKAY, enough about that. We should have talked more, and for that we all owe you all a big ol’ smooch on the forehead, BUT WE ARE BACK, BABY! Let’s get to the good stuff!
The Sound Museum will be released biweekly starting late Spring/early Summer of 2025. If things get wonky and this plan changes, we will let you know. We are holding release until all eight episodes are finished, so as to not leave you waiting months for each new scrumptious chapter. This means a longer production time, but a shorter time between episodes for you!
SO WHAT HAVE WE BEEN UP TO SINCE LAST WE SPOKE?
WRITING/RECORDING:
We wrote, edited and finalized scripts in early 2023, wrapping recording in December.
TSM is a sprawling collaboration that spans four continents and five time zones, and 2023 saw a lot of that coordination come to life. What an exciting group of mega hotties with pipes for days. From leads, to background walla, to animatronics, the talent in these discord calls would singe your brows off, buster brown!
DIALOGUE EDITS/FOLEY:
2024 was a big year of change in the personal lives of our crew, but during this time, we managed to finish all eight dialogue edits, get a boatload of foley recorded, and knock out five of eight foley edits. By project end, TSM will have over sixteen original musical compositions and sound art pieces, not to mention original and sourced foley, soundscapes, and a blooper reel! “Make a show about impossible sounds as your first full audio editing project!” they said, “it’ll be fun!” they said. Long story short, this has been and continues to be a behemoth of a project, but boy howdy is it rewarding. We will be posting some fun BTS soon, but for now, just know that we all have a big old embarrassing crush on this project and have been tirelessly preparing it for your listening enjoyment!
WHAT WILL 2025 BRING?
Well… A finished show! There is still much work to do and miles to go before we sleep, but if all goes according to plan, TSM will be more present in your lives as we near completion. This is the official BIG update, but we will have smaller updates, sneak peaks, and fun nuggets coming soon to this channel and social media! We are now officially on bluesky (@thesoundmuseum) and will continue to be on Instagram, despite the world of social media growing grimmer and grimmer.
Thank you so much to everyone who has supported the show and its crew thus far. This has been a labor of absolute love. The Sound Museum lives on, and we can’t wait to share this with you. More exciting things to come!
