If you haven't chosen already, I truly think you'll have a better time with Shrek (not that I'm biased or anything). Carousel is a weird show, and Shrek is just fun all around. Also, which version are you doing? Broadway or National Tour?

I’m literally just now seeing this, since I never get on tumblr anymore, whoops, But yes I’m actually doing both Carousel and Shrek, one goes up in August one goes up in October, pulling double duty. and I have no idea what version of Shrek it is just that Forever is replacing Donkey Pot Pie which I specifically do not like nor have I ever liked that switch.

First off, you're super rad and inspiring. Second, I'm auditioning for Shrek at the end of next week, and I'm a huge procrastinator and haven't found a song yet. What might you suggest for someone auditioning for (ideally) Fiona?

Alrightty SHREK IS FUCKING BRILLIANT FIRST OF ALL! I’d love to do it but its never done for adults which sucks but oh well. okay, I personally as an actor and director am such an advocate for “singing from the show” but I understand it isn’t always an option, but singing in the style of the show can be easy if you just pick something sang by someone in the role. If you’re going for Fiona try “On My Way” from Violet, very similar feel and Sutton Sutton Sutton all the way. Something from “Spamalot” may work as well? I’m actually really partion to On My Way now that I said it. Okay but anything comedic as well. You have so many options to you, go out there, be the best auditionee you can be.
