So..it seems that Le Chèvre answered so of my asks..and uh..that happened.

And so I told him that he should make his own so I have yet to see that..

My favourite candy? I don't know its name exactly but it's the ones that are purple at it's a mystery flavour! Now I don't like butterscotch but they are fun guessing!

Le Chèvre doesn't eat any candy. I was eating some some ago and offered some to him, and he refused. Then he proceeds to tell me that "wine and candy taste alike in a way and that he'll drink that instead"..but he drinks that everyday not once have seen him drink water..ever! Does he ever get drunk..oh wait he doesn't ..that's even more confusing..I wonder if he gets his liver replaced every once and a while..

Just wanna share this story so we #notforget.

This is a very specific Dutch thing, but this is Kluutstraat 2 in Nieuw-Hellevoet, Hellevoetsluis, the Netherlands.

Cute house in a suburb. Nice playground nearby. Wholesome suburb. Perfect Dutch surburbia.

The thing is. And this is why #neverforget. My grandparents were both teachers. My mother was born here and it was the first house my grandparents moved into after marriage. Now the thing is, THEY GOT THIS HOUSE FROM THE GOUVERNMENT as a thank you for teaching at the local school.

In the late 60s, it was normal for gouvernment-ish employees to get houses from the gouvernment. I think a police man and a postman lived in the same street and probably some others as well. My grandparents moved out eventually to a different place and the house went to another new teacher! But this was just the "gouvernment employees" street.

This is really wanna of those things they never put in the history books because it wasn't super common or like standard or prescribe by law or something. it was just schools or counties being thankfull they found people. And, like, this is 60s Netherlands, it's not exactly socialist utopia, the cold war was a thing. And STILL workers had crazy workers rights like this that were just seen as normal.

You would be offered a job in a certain place and the employer would provide the housing. You didn't have to do that! Yes, this is true for company towns, although the company town by Philips in Eindhoven is actually amazing but that's besides, but just providing housing for teachers or policemen is just such a great worker's right to demand!

I'm not saying we should implement this now, we can't, but we shouldn't forget this was once normal!
