Thank you for sharing your thoughts on Sorina! You really understand how their relationship works. I wanted to know what you thought of ch52.2? The scene where Erina is watching a young couple hold hands. It's one of my favorite panels in the manga because it hints at romance for Erina. And at the end the narrative tells us that Erina doesn't know the "taste of love". I was thinking it parallels to Soma, who doesn't understand the significance of cooking for the person important to you.
It’s my pleasure! ^^ I loved that extra chapter a lot, and I completely agree that it parallels Souma’s own obliviousness towards love. They’ve both had that foreshadowing in needing to discover love for themselves. With Erina, it was that special chapter, with Souma it was the beginning of the manga and Jou’s words (which he never heard), about needing to find the woman to give all his food to. And then the very next panel we see Erina for the first time. ^_~
So yes, I said this in a very old post, but what Erina and Souma both have in common, is that they both need to inject that “taste of love” into their own cooking. It’s a discovery they both need to make, and they will likely make it through each other. ^__^
