Southbound Honesty Day!

Here’s how it works: instead of having just a few hours of play where only those in accommodating timezones can participate, Honesty Day lasts all day! (Obviously.) From 12:00 AM EST Monday to 12:00 AM EST Tuesday, you may send and receive anons (or off anon, if you’re feeling adventurous) to all participating characters. To participate, reblog this post onto every character you want to be in the game and only send questions to those that have reblogged this post. Include everyone who wants to play and remember to pay it forward. No hate will be tolerated and you are not required to answer any questions that upset you, but other than that, go hog wild and have tons of fun all gosh darn day!

It’s that time, cowboys! The event officially starts now as of 5:00 PM EST, February 1st. You can catch up on the event details here on this post if you’ve missed them or need another glimpse! Please use the #southbound.rodeo tag only and not the regular starter tag for any event-related starters. This event is not mandatory, your muse(s) don’t have to attend the rodeo, but I suggest playing so all our muses can be in the same location to ensure some interesting interactions and confrontations! The ‘answer two starters before posting one of your own’ rule is waived from now until 5:00 PM EST, February 2nd. This only applies to event starters in the event starter tag, normal starters go on as usual! Now let’s have some rodeo fun, yeehaw!

Hey folks! It’s been a little while since I’ve been on, I’m sorry about that. My parents got a new dog and my step brother has been here half a week for a visit so I’ve been really busy with family stuff. It’s given me a lot of time to think, though, and I’ve come to the decision that it would be best to make Southbound a private group for the time being. The dash is quite slow and half the group is on hiatus anyways (if that sounds like I’m blaming anyone, I’m not, real life is way more important than rp! If it’s anyone’s fault, it’s mine!) so I wouldn’t feel comfortable promoting us to the general public. 

What this means is that I won’t be accepting any new members, unless they’ve got a referral from a member already part of the group, though I will be accepting new characters from current members if you have any muses you want to bring in. I won’t be doing any activity checks per se, though I’ll have to assume you’re no longer here if you’ve been inactive for more than two weeks in which I’ll just unfollow your characters. The starter rules won’t apply for the time being and y’all are pretty much free to do whatever. Hopefully this puts the stress off of myself (which is part of the reason I’ve been so inactive on my character accounts) and off of you guys, since I know this is a very busy time for lots of us.

This isn’t the end of Southbound, though. I’ve worked too hard on worldbuilding, nearly a year of it, so I’m not ready to say goodbye just yet. I plan on revamping/bringing the group back when we’re all ready! I love this place, all of you, and your characters too much to let Boot Hill, Arizona go! Let me know if you have any questions or concerns, I’m here for you!

Hey guys, I have some bad news. My grandpa is on his deathbed and will pass within the night if not the next following days, so I’m sort of on notice to leave up to Michigan at any time; the funeral will probably be on Friday so I’ll be up there nearly a week. I’ll be bringing my computer with me and I’ll be mobile on my phone pretty much every waking moment of the day, but obviously I’ll be busy with my family and grieving, so I don’t know how present I’m going to be. I know it’s pretty fucked up priorities for me to be worried about the group at a time like this but groups fail when the admins aren’t around and there’s nothing I want more than for this group to flourish, plus we just opened last night and it’s such a crucial time. I’m still deciding on my plan of action, but likely I’ll be getting some help from a friend to keep the main/promo queue updated and I’ll be around when I can. My focus at times like these are mostly on keeping the main updated so it might be a little while before I can get to replies, I’m gonna try to write some tonight and maybe queue a few of them, but I apologize if I don’t get to your reply sooner. I’ll let you guys know when I’ve got more concrete plans and I’ll be around for the rest of the night if you have any questions.

ANNOUNCEMENT (that was supposed to happen yesterday but I digress): The rule regarding answering two open starters before posting an open starter yourself goes into effect immediately today, as detailed on the rules page. This rule only applies to open starters, you may post as many closed starters as you like without responding to two opens beforehand, so plotting with your fellow members is heavily encouraged! This rule is so no open starter in the tag goes without a response and no one feels left out. Let me know if you have any questions!

Hello friends, my grandfather passed this morning and I’m just getting my things together to go up to Michigan and be with my family in preparation for the funeral. I’m on for a little bit (on my parents’ desktop as my laptop is to be packed away; jesus h christ I forgot how terrible tumblr is without xkit!) to do some admin duties. I’ll be on again later tonight to get to anything I don’t right now.

Hello, cowboys! I’m online just in time to tell you the event is now over! (Also, I did not end up going to the museum because flaky mom gonna flake, whatevs.) There should be no new threads taking place during the rodeo and the southbound.rodeo tag is now retired. However, you are free to continue your event threads to your heart’s content or to when they come to their natural finish! Threads about the aftermath and aftereffects of the event are absolutely fine, though!
