The annual Boot Hill Rodeo is an event every citizen looks forward to in late winter/early spring! (And not just for the four day weekend the kids get every year since school isn’t in session for two days so they can join in on the festivities!) Located in the spacious Boot Hill Community Church parking lot, citizens and travelers alike can come watch the bull and bronc riding competitions, the barrel racing or calf roping events, or enjoy the many carnival rides and games! More of a foodie? Enjoy the many food trucks and stalls provided by local Boot Hill restaurants and families; don’t forget that beer cart! There will be live entertainment, space for line dancing, and a cattle auction among many more fun activities for you and yours! So come on down, get your cowboy boots and your ten gallon hat on, it’s Rodeo Time!

TIME: Gates open at 1:00 PM every day and close at 11:30 PM every day

this event will start on Friday, February 1st at 5:00 PM EST ( 2:00 PM PST / 10:00 PM GMT / 8:00 AM GMT+10 ) and end on Friday, February 8th at 5:00 PM EST. In game, however, the rodeo only lasts three days.
this event is not mandatory to participate in if you feel your character wouldn’t come, but i really encourage it as a way to get all of our characters in the same place for some random mashups and dramatic confrontations! plotting with your fellow members is highly encouraged!
time won’t be exactly frozen on the dash, you will be allowed to continue your pre-existing threads, but try not to start any new non-event related threads unless they vaguely mention the rodeo is happening or acknowledge in some way until the 8th!
please exclusively use the tag #southbound.rodeo for open starters to keep them separate from regular play! the ‘answer two starters before posting one of your own’ rule will be waived from 5:00 PM EST, February 1st until 5:00 PM EST, February 2nd to allow time for starters to, y’know, actually be posted. after that, the standard rules apply!
and remember, the event doesn’t start until a notice has been posted on the main!! i’m serious abt this y’all don’t make mama scold u ;)

Hello, cowboys! I’m online just in time to tell you the event is now over! (Also, I did not end up going to the museum because flaky mom gonna flake, whatevs.) There should be no new threads taking place during the rodeo and the southbound.rodeo tag is now retired. However, you are free to continue your event threads to your heart’s content or to when they come to their natural finish! Threads about the aftermath and aftereffects of the event are absolutely fine, though!
