Restrict scholarship to Markham's southeast, says councillor: A university entrance scholarship being established for high school students in Markham should be restricted to those in the southeast community, Ward 7 Councillor Logan Kanapathi said.
The $200,000 fund Markham council endorsed Tuesday night is part of a $1-million enhancement program the town is benefitting from through the southeast collector trunk sewer plan, which is part of the York Durham Sewage System project.
