These old-fashioned stewed potatoes are a classic Southern comfort food, perfect for any meal. They're simple to make and packed with flavor.
Ingredients: 4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed. 1/2 cup chopped onion. 2 tablespoons butter. 1 cup water. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: Melt the butter in a big pan over medium-low heat. Put in the chopped onion and cook it until it turns clear. Put the cubed potatoes in the pan and mix them around to cover them with butter. Add water to the potatoes and cook them until they're almost done. Cover and cook, stirring every now and then, for 20 to 25 minutes, or until potatoes are soft. Add pepper and salt to taste. Serve hot as a side dish to warm you up.
