About the Seiji unfinished bust-up, based on a similar-looking unused portrait for Yui, it seems like PWG/Black Wings is most likely using AI for at the very least these extended portraits. :( It's a shame to see, honestly.
First and foremost, I went back and found the Colorful Yui base that you guys mentioned; there were unused bases for Violet, Fuuka, and Soy there as well, though not as extended as the proper full-size portraits (and these four all have a slightly different file name convention, which is why I didn't notice them sooner):
Now that you mention AI, and now that I see these, I'll admit, the buttons on concept Seiji, Violet, and Yui's clothes are pretty strange, in a very suspicious way. If an artist was making a quick concept mockup, they'd probably make the buttons match up more with the existing ones (or draw over them entirely), and whatever's going on with the buttons on the concept Seiji's overshirt is way beyond that.
I would guess that a human still drew the final version of Seiji's sprites, like the second anon suggested, because the buttons (and details in general) are a lot more cohesive there. But it's absolutely a shame if they're using AI in any part of their process, even if it at least doesn't seem to be making it into the final game at the moment.
Hold up, aligning my chakras
"Chud? W-what are you trying to say....?"
"..."
"Are you no longer a.... Are you no longer a N-Nazi?"
"I- I uh..."
"Chud, tell me..."
"I'm, uh..."
"Chud..."
"..............I'M SORRY CHAD. I'M NOT A NAZI. I'M NOT AN INCEL EITHER. I LOVE JEWISH PEOPLE I LOVE BLACK PEOPLE I LOVE WOMEN I LOVE [expletive removed] I LOVE ALL OF THEM"
"What-"
"I CAN'T HELP IT. (sniffles) I'm sorry. I just thought.. I just thought that if I-"
"huh?"
"I just thought that if I pretended to be as b-based as you are, then you might, that you might l-like me...."
"..."
"And I thought that if I larped long enough, that the beliefs would actually stick... but I can't do it. I d-don't want to see billions d-die, I want to see billions s-smile..."
"..."
"...It's okay if you hate me. I wouldn't blame you. After all the lying I've done. I'm so terrible. So, so terrible."
".....Aww, Chud, You don't have to larp in front of me!"
"W-what?"
"Truth is, I never cared about your Nazi posting. That's My territory, savin' America and Europa and all that. What I always loved you for was your passion."
"h-huh?"
"The way you put your soul into every soyjak you make to make fun of your enemies. The way your fingers clack against the keyboard at breakneck speed with the mere sight of a disagreement. You get up at five to harass some new asshole online, every single day. It never matters what you're doing, what matters is that you pour your heart out into it."
"...t-Thanks, I guess. You know, you're pretty great yourself."
"Eh, it's mostly for show. I am Chad, after all. You're the one pulling all the strings!"
"hehe, You're too sweet, Chad."
*Chad tousles Chudjak's hair*
"But anyways, thanks for being honest with me. Now that I know the truth, I know what I gotta do."
"W-what is that?"
*Chad grabs and kisses Chudjak in a deep embrace*
"(panting) Uhh, Chad, I, um..."
"You don't have to say anything"
*they kiss again*
What do you mean people are still bitching about soy?
Can we keep that shite in 2016 please.
God that year was a bleeding shithole.
Shun's full-size portraits!
A few months ago when I was in Las Vegas, I finally got to try some of the food at Beauty & Essex during their happy hour. My husband has been to the New York location for a work dinner and enjoyed it, and we timed our happy hour crawl to end at B&E because it had one of the later happy hour menus. I enjoyed the meal so much that I tracked down a copy of chef Chris Santos’s cookbook Share as it contains some of his most memorable recipes like grilled cheese dumplings in tomato soup, but my first go with it was a much simpler dish: miso and soy-glazed mushrooms. I’ve been on this massive mushroom kick for the last year-ish, so I’m always on the lookout for a new way to eat them, and this recipe was really simple and delicious and I’m going to use this same technique to make some glazed oyster mushrooms this week and pair them with some miso-spiked polenta.
