The flavor of soy sauce, sesame oil, and aromatic spices abound in these pan-fried tofu cakes, which have a crispy exterior and a soft interior. They are a great vegan main course or appetizer.
Ingredients: 1 block tofu, pressed and drained. 2 tablespoons soy sauce. 1 tablespoon sesame oil. 2 tablespoons cornstarch. 1 teaspoon garlic powder. 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger. 2 green onions, thinly sliced. 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, for frying.
Instructions: In a bowl, crumble the pressed tofu. Add soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, garlic powder, ground ginger, and sliced green onions to the bowl with tofu. Mix well to combine. Form the tofu mixture into small patties. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add tofu patties to the skillet and cook until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove tofu cakes from the skillet and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot and enjoy!
