Another Friday morning in the country

Looking east, we are starting today at 53F degrees (12c) and it feels pretty nice outside. 😀 It is supposed to get warm today but not super hot.

I am thinking that we are looking at morning moisture haze out there instead of wildfire smoke because the AQI number right now is at 36, which is considered good. This soybean crop looks like it’s doing pretty good. We got more rain coming in a couple days. I give you a closer look in the next pic. 👇

Today will be sort of a rest day today. I must have tried to get too much done yesterday because my feet and ankles were protesting all night and I got little sleep. 😵‍💫

The smoke is returning ☹️

I walked out back to the edge of the soybean field to look around. The air quality is at 92 right now which is not good but it’s a lot better than 500. That line of trees is about 0.4 miles away.

I will not be doing much today because I had a gut ache last night and barely slept. My sleep score was only 47. 😬 Am starting to feel better now but boy am I tired.

We had a short rainstorm go through here yesterday and I thing it washed some of the smoke out of the air but it is coming back now.

The heat continues

Thursday morning, July 2nd

I took a walk out back this morning as the sun was coming up. It was like stepping into a sauna, 75F degrees (24C) and 90% humidity. 😥 No critters or birds were out and about yet. The view above is looking north from the edge of the soybean field at the back of my yard.

I cooked a larger dinner yesterday and have half of it left for tonight. I made a chicken and rice pot with Alfredo sauce. As soon as I get done posting this I will be having homemade pie for breakfast (see yesterday’s post). 😋

If I go out today, it will be a very short trip, everything is pretty quiet around here because of the weather.
