The birdbath is seeing a lot of visitors now in this dry weather. This is an overhead view, it is behind the house. The bumble bee in yesterday’s post was in than bush on the left.

I added another stepping stone in the water for another place for smaller birds to land.

Here is a starling having a sip. I just missed a robin that was up there too. They looked at each other and the robin flew off. I’m outa here. 😂

A peaceful Wednesday so far

When I stepped out back, it was very quiet this morning. There was no birds singing and no birds out hunting for their breakfast. I did not walk out too far so maybe the robins did not spot me. 🙄

I came in and got my shower and need to go back out and water everything. It has not rained here and it is getting quite dry. The crop in each field is slowly pushing up but I bet they would like some rain. None is on tap for today or tomorrow.

I have a routine dentist appointment this morning and they are good people over there. I don’t mind going in. Need to get my coffee started and get outside and hydrate some plants. 🌱

I am usually not very lucky when it comes to getting a picture of a bee in my garden. They seem to move around too much and don’t like me hovering.

I was successful today. 😃

I was already out in the flower garden, sitting on a low stool doing some weeding. He came around after I was already out there a while. He is in the center of the above picture.

Got another pic a bit closer. I added more water in the birdbath while I was there. A lot had evaporated since this morning’s fill

Tuesday is chugging along. Got the laundry and grocery shopping done. 👍

Out doing my morning watering 💦

Daddy robin is up on the shed, standing guard and just waiting for a bug to move. 🦅

You can see him at the front peak. Birds like to stand at that front peak and look around.

The HVAC guy came here yesterday and got my heating and cooling working. My thermostat was only a couple years old but that was the problem.

Today is laundry day and change the bedding day. I also need to run to the grocery store too.

This is my first time planting broccoli and this one looks happy. I planted it up behind the house so it would be out of the wind. I planted the bigger tomato here too. The wind has been terrible this year.

My first workout for June

Started feeling better after I was up and moving around so I headed for the gym. I started out as usual on the bike and moved around on other strength machines. Here I am on the calf extension machine. I wanted to do some dumbbell exercises but my timing was off and it got crowded down there. 💪

My afternoon is sort of on hold. My five month old furnace is not functioning properly in the air conditioning side, so I have a technician coming. They say sometime between noon and 5pm. Okay, that kinda shoots this afternoon in the butt. 😐. Oh well, it has to be looked at. The air conditioner comes on and off, it’s just that the fan gets stuck in the slow speed mode at the end.

I was out just before sunrise this morning. All was quiet, not even the birds were up yet.

Today is supposed to be a very windy day, but I don’t have any trash (or stray car bumpers) 🤣 to put out this week. One person just doesn’t generate enough trash in one week to warrant wasting a garbage bag on. It takes me two weeks to fill one bag.

It has not rained in days around here. I have to monitor the plants make sure they get a drink without drowning them. I need to get my shower in and get out there and get this day started.

Got out and did some weeding in my asparagus patch this morning. The weeds came out easier after I gave it a soaking this morning.

In the picture above there are two microscopic lady bugs, but these are so tiny that you may never spot them. If you can, let me know in the comments. Below is what they look like. 👇

It took about three tries before I got a good snap of this thing. They were seated towards the upper part of the sprigs.

I found those stupid keys I couldn’t find, and then misplaced them again! 😠 I got a way to keep track of them today. 👇

Maybe this way I won’t lose them so fast 😂

Happy Sunday, and the end of May

I did not post yesterday because I was not feeling well. I did not sleep good because it felt like all the bones in my feet were just aching. I stayed off my feet most of the day and feel better now.

This morning I walked all the way out to the farm field to see what was growing because the plants are up a little higher now. Looks like soybeans was the choice this year.

I was out watering my garden already this morning because it has been dry and windy here and it looks like we have another day of the same coming.

This is a closer look at the soybeans. This is the field to my east and the one that is in many morning shots. I wanted to hoe a little in my veggie garden but I need to find the keys to the shed first. 😡 They are in a lanyard and I must have set them down in a random spot, and now I have no idea where the hell that is.

Felt pretty good today so I headed for the gym

I’m about to start on the heavier exercises so I gotta put on my mean face. 😂

I don’t know, what do you guys think? I don’t think I was fooling anybody. 🙄

Made a quick stop at the store after my chiropractor visit to grab some ice cream sandwiches for the weekend. A person has to be mindful of their priorities. 👍

This is one of my rhubarb plants out back, sending out one hell of a seed branch. 🧐

Planning on having a fish sandwich and a salad for dinner. Friday in good so far.

Out early on this Friday-

I got up right at sunrise on this sunny Friday. I am out here in the garden to give the plants a little drink of water and fill up the birdbath.

After a couple minutes, my robin friend showed up to say hello.

After the drenching this area had in April, Mother Nature’s tap has been shut off mostly in May. Local television says we are at a 2.2 inch deficit for rainfall. I am spending extra time in my asparagus patch this year, weeding and fertilizing. I would like to see stronger plants there.

Have to go out for a scheduled chiropractor visit today even though I feel pretty good.

Mom & Dad robin say Happy Thursday 😍

As soon as they see me outside to take my morning shot, mom and dad robin fly down nearby as if to say hello. I am able to move around and they are not afraid. That makes me happy. 😊

As you can see, I did get the backyard grass cut yesterday. The front gets cut today. I actually had to look at my watch to make sure what day it was this morning. That’s what happens when you have a Monday holiday mixed in the week. 😵‍💫 It will be dry and sunny all day today, let’s see what I can get done. 👍

I felt good enough to get down to the gym today. I don’t know why but I had felt pretty rough and just “off” for a couple days. 😐 I had to wait this morning until the show Perry Mason was finished before leaving. Hey, a guy’s gotta have priorities. 😂

There was a lot more people there his morning. More people were in working on the cardio equipment this time. Yes, I can feel that fan way over here where I am. I think it’s made by Big-ass Fan Company (for real 😂). I am riding 👆the Bike to Nowhere in this pic.

Gotta get that mean look so I can get through these tougher exercises now. I had a good workout and still feel good. Time for lunch and then some grass cutting.

As Pappa Smurf would say- Have a smurfy hump day. 😃

Good morning y’all 🌞

We got a few clouds and some color to start this Wednesday. The weather guy on TV says we only received one inch of rain so far this whole month. I guess this balances out things after the flooding rains of April.

Grass cutting will be on the agenda for today. I noticed how thick and long it was already as I walked out to get this shot.

A couple of my peonies have developed big flower heads already. These guys will me ant magnets once the flowers open up. My rhubarb is doing well, and I see a pie in my future. 😂

This is how the trash bins are gathered here. The grabber on the truck reaches out and grabs the bin and dumps it. See my previous posts for the the rest of the story of why I chopped up a car bumper with an axe. 🤪 🤣

Yes, here it is. 😂 It might have blown out of somebody’s truck when we had those stormy days a week ago but I think somebody just dumped it on the side of the road here during the night. 😤
