11. A Morning Kiss

Richie has a flight to catch early morning, and he’scurrently stumbling around the bedroom in the dark trying not to wake Eddie. Eddiewoke up the moment that Richie’s alarm went off, and he’s currently curled upunder the covers, pretending to be asleep.

“Fuck.” Richie says, tripping over a pair of shoes on thefloor, his own. “Great. This is going great.”

Eddie smiles, even though he’s pretending to be comatose,and rolls over onto his side slowly. He hears Richie make a humming noise underhis breath and then Richie sits down on the edge of the bed, resting his handon Eddie’s body under the covers.

“God.” Richie says lovingly, “Look at you. You’re so damncute Eddie spaghetti.”

Eddie figures he’s given up on being ‘asleep’, and slowlyopens his eyes, blinking. Richie’s face is smiling down at him, and Eddiestretches, and then sits upright.

“Did I wake you?” Richie asks, guiltily.

“Only a little.” Eddie replies, and Richie runs his handthrough Eddie’s bed hair.

“Sorry.” He says, “Hey, do you think if I cancelled that meetingin L.A, then I could stay here with you?”

“Go to the meeting you idiot.” Eddie tells him, and Richiepouts, but only for a second.

“You drive a hard bargain.” He says, and then leans in tokiss Eddie. “Will you miss me?”

“Of course.” Eddie says, and wraps his arms around Richie’sneck. “Always.”
