Jimbe concept; Bebe breaks up with Clyde, gets into a big fight with her parents, and has a less than good relationship with her friends atm, so she decides to spend her summer as a volunteer at the disability summer camp. She gets to see Jimmy in his king Elvis prime, ukele and all, and their little summer romance blooms as she tries to fit in with his group of friends. Nathan is more than furious that Jimmy is getting with THE Bebe Stevens, so he tries to sabotage it in his Nathan way with Mimsy.

Thought a lot about the regency au last night when I needed to sleep

Craig's gang eludes me but Jimbe has me in a damn chokehold so I have that on the brain

Clyde and Bebe having their own flirtations and (reputation ruining) experiences, like I'm talking had they been caught there would have been a demand for a special license or a duel at dawn.

Bebe is convinced they are in love but Clyde still wants to sow his oats, thinking he still has some years before he should be forced to settle. He does have an actual reason but this post ain't about him.

Bebe's father arranges her to marry Jimmy, son of a duke, as a way to elevate their family status. The Valmers had been worried about their son marrying and took it upon themselves to make a match, the blonde girl catching their eye quite quickly in the beginning of their search.

Bebe is devastated. Her whole dream of becoming Lady Donovan down in the gutter and now she has a growing anxiety having to bind herself to some man she doesn't know.

Meeting Jimmy she's immediately surprised by his mobility aids. She'd encountered others with disabilities before, but Jimmy simply acted as though it wasn't there. He was known for his exuberance and social life, and to see that something like this didn't slow him down in the slightest turns her preconceptions on their head.

At the alter, the second time she sees him in person, the vicar begins his speeches. Jimmy leans down with a sly smile that makes her stomach flip and in a whisper tells her the smallest of jokes. Even a dirty look from the old vicar does little to stop the little titters that comes out of her, and suddenly she finds herself relaxing. He is not a bad man, and things will be fine.

At least until she misses her courses. Jimmy had been nothing but a gentleman, allowing her to take her time with consummating the marriage and instead focusing on being friends first.

With how far along her ladies maid thinks her to be, there is no hiding of when the babe was made.

You could say @marjoriestotch’s Jimbe Summer Camp AU has me in a LITERAL chokehold. I keep thinking up scenarios of what Nathan and Mimsy could possibly try pull to keep Jimmy and Bebe apart (their love is too strong though) and it’s so amazing.
