Hero Organization chapter 2

Remember I said it got a slow start? Now things took a sharp turn...

Brain turned on:

Ryu is there on the cover got me assume he'll survive for a long while but now I'm unsure not because it felt very real but if the writer is going to switch protagonist (with Ryu being a bait all along) killing him off in 2nd chapter is a reasonable move because it gives him enough depth while also not drag out his demise for too long (and the way they make sure other rookies won't leave much impression adds up for this to be a tragic prologue for someone else...Leo probably)

Doesn't mean I like it though. Gritty military story? Pretty much welcome. The way it gets built up was solid too so that's a plus. But damn another dad get offed for younger hero to take a spotlight? that kinda sad Well...at least this one is weekly so I won't suffer as much as kn8 here (´・ω・`)

on delayed thought Leo gonna feel guilty over this. Like, he seems to aware of Ryu's inferior complex and it won't take a genius to figure out having a prodigy son has a lot to do with that..

Thinking about Hero Organization (urgh, what a title) and it's note quite easy to say if Ryu's decision to accept the offer was right or wrong. More under cut (it gets long)

In one hand going to space to be a father his son can be proud of is cool but the thing is his son is already proud of him.

Regardless of his income (not enough to buy the coolest mech model for his son) taking care of his son as a single dad isn't something to be sneered at. So it's can be viewed as he just do that for selfish reason, just because he can't bear to be an average guy next to his genius son.

If there's any problem it's his inferiority complex toward his son which is...ugly, but can't be helped. Instead of facing his problem he's running away from his problem, his son, his peers and everything in hope that he'll achieve something worthwhile without a full knowledge of it (Katou guy needs to explains to him how to increase output).

But then there's a good chance Leo thinks he's holding his father back from the greatness. He has the same dream his father used to have so even as a child so imagining his father can't pursuit his childhood dream because he exists is hard for Leo too (it's already shown that he too cares a lot about Ryu).

So...the story can go in many ways. If I have to guess it might go plot-focused route where star beasts threats become more real and it's no longer a mission for fame but survival of humanity...or something along that line. Definitely looking forward to that :3
