I want tumblr to know that there is a German scifi show from the 60s in which the main guy, Commander Cliff Allister McLane (think German Kirk) has a commanding officer (and captain of space ship 'Hydra') called General Lydia van Dyke. The show basically starts out with MyLane getting demoted for being a lose canon and she rolls up and tells him not to mope like a little bitch ("not to resign like a sulking space cadet") because she expects him back in her fleet after his 3 years of patrol duty.
