To be honest, we still can’t get enough of The Landing’s last single Lustre, which we so eagerly featured on the blog and on our last Spotify playlist. Lustre is such a sublimely plush and spacey groover. But we’ve already lost ourselves in The Landing’s brand new one. The astute New York musician casts a peppery bouncing new spell on us with his perfumed space pop on Keep Lookin’ Up, inebriating us with more of his soulful grooving, warped intoxicating sound. This velvety, slushy stroller fuses the slickness of Hot Chip with the psychedelic soul of Unknown Mortal Orchestra, all encapsulated in a lavish sprinkling of uptempo spice and a a piquant drizzle of Toro Y Moi. The idiosyncratic smoothness of Keep Lookin’ Up’s vocals and its distorted melodies also evoke a bit of Hundred Waters. The Landing explores human potential and the power of positivity with his the warm effervescence and bubbly optimism found on the song.
