If we are to settle the Solar System astronauts will have to travel for months and years. Are these missions too taxing for human minds?

I'm watching this show about space right now and this one guy said " I used to watch star trek allot when I was a kid and now I am a engineer for NASA" And I think it's really cool that star trek inspired him to do that
