Hey! I was just wondering how you go about designing you deities. Your designs are really unique, and I'd love some insight on your process!

i dont know if theres really a Process, but i think a lot parts of the designs r just inspired by other things i see. like. 

for mother’s current design i had seen a drawing of this guy with a black head, a bright blue firey thing on his neck, and a white body, and i just thought the color combo was really cool. for Her it was based off this drawing i saw on tumblr of a woman with a lot of arms and satyr like legs, and for the parrot angel i had gotten the prompt but i had ALSO seen another cool monster w hands around its eyes so i wanted to incorporate that. but for weird dog i had just imagined this black bodied Thing with a red head, and the rest of the design came out of fucking around w that base idea.

Usually though….. the formula is something like: animal-ish body + either a humanish or shape head…… a lot of it is just slapping a bunch of different things together and throwing a funky color in there or a halo. oh and i like giving them long necks dkfjhdjkj

mostly im just thinking of. Things i want to incorporate into a design and then see how they fit together?

Hey! I did this photo recently, and was wondering if you thought anything might be off anatomy-wise. I’ve looked at it for so long, I can’t tell. Also, I was wondering about your opinion on the colours, and how they work together! Thank you so much!!

I looked it over, and it seemed like you might have skewered the perspective on the character’s face a slight bit, mostly visible by the tilt of the nose, the nose bridge connecting to the brows, and the lips rotation on the face. This particular perspective can be difficult given how it works on the forward axis in the composition, and all I can do really is to recommend you look up a lot of references when drawing portraits, as well as really sitting yourself down and getting meticulous about -constructing- your sketch all the way from the most basic shapes and onward to more fleshed out and complex drafts.

Personally, I like the color setting, although I would recommend adding a hint of a secondary color to the shirt. I can see you’ve used a hint of red for the face, which works pretty well. And I feel a dash of blue or any coldish hue to the shirt could make it pop more, and put it in great contrast to the character’s warm skin tone and eye color.  Mind you, my screen’s colors can differ quite drastically from yours depending on the backlight on our separate devices, so you might already have mixed a hue in there that I can’t detect. But if that’s the case, I’d suggest amping up that particular hue even more.

I'm just gonna say this off-anon, because I think you deserve better than anonymous opinions. (Which aren't inherently bad) I personally think you are someone who is kind, generous, and passionate about the things you care about. You've got a lot of love to give, and I deeply respect that. And the fact that you've managed to pull through every bump life has given you is admirable to me. You're a genuine role model for me. Not just with art, but with who you are, and how strong you've been. ♥♥♥
