"The Earth’s population once again returned to numbers rivaling those of the first half of the 20th century, and the Earth showed signs of restoring the balance of nature, making it easier to live on. But by the time this age arrived, movement against idea of the Earth, that singular planet of water, being used by a particular group of privileged people, arose among those living in space. And standing at the head of those making this claim was Char’s Father, Zeon Deikun. He claimed that in order to keep from polluting the Earth, all humans should migrate to the space colonies. At the same time he demanded independence for the people living in the colonies. This claim aroused sympathy from the spacenoids, but the person who took advantage of this sympathy to establish a dictatorship was Degwin Sodo Zabi." -from Zeta Gundam novelization, by Yoshiyuki Tomino
"On the political front, a postwarfamily registration system was announced that would bring all the spacenoids living in the colonies under the supervision of the Earth Federation government. All of humanity would be numbered, and measures could be taken in advance to control independence movements like the Principality of Zeon. This was a regressive phenomenon that went against the trend of the era."

I like it when the gunpla threads become "feddie scum" or "zeek scum". And then we argue about which grunt is better.
But we really know it doesn't matter because Spacenoids are the best and win whenever.
Favorite part of #Gundam_San so far? Definitely the glorious Spacenoid engineers!!
