bucky isn't afraid of the other, he's afraid for them. he knows little to nothing about them except for the fact that they've got some sort of powers that make them partially transform. anyone else would be, at least, intimidated by such a sight. but bucky knows what it's like to be made into a monster, and knows that what the other needs more than anything is empathy. wherever they're from, they're clearly alone, and that in itself is worrying, given how young they look. ❝ you're just a kid, ❞ the sergeant says quietly, calmly, staying stock still so as not to be a threat. ❝ i'm not going to hurt you. i want to help you, however i can. my name is bucky, can y'tell me yours ? ❞
