Hester’s Guide to Happily Owning up to Your Mistakes and Depression
“... this puts a pause to Linus’ rant, coming to the realization that [spoiler] in time to watch Slaughtercraft hack into the local pizzeria’s mainframe to murder the cook with the pizza oven, formerly the ship’s galley chef.”
I don’t think I’m ever gonna write a sentence this great ever again for an outline
The topic of spider goats at work turned into the Saturnites, 7ft tall goat/spider aliens who happen to be cannibals
"So, what the heck's under that helmet?"
Fun reminder that Quikos vary by size and can grow to be the size of a human child
I don’t care if it sounds stupid but Hester and Hollowpoint’s friendship blossomed from a knock-knock joke
“A fortune-telling machine, yeah!” Hester pulled the machine close to her, flicking at the crooked head on top. “I’ve used these babies for years, they can tell us if we’re going the right way.”
Linus cocked a brow. “That explains so much. They’re pre-programmed with generic responses, Hester, and it’s a waste of time and money to stick around to play twen-”
“Generic schmneric, you just don’t know how to work ‘em right.” She eagerly waved the credit tag over the scanner, turning the wobbling devil’s head to face her. “Okay! How’s it go… Oh yeah. O super and wonderful mystic seer, we seek your guidance in our times of trouble. Where must we trek through the stars to complete our quest?"
A blue light pulsed rapidly, and the napkin holder turned silent. Linus stared on, unaware of his chopsticks being borrowed to complete Hollowpoint's stick house, his gaze falling to Hester once a slip of paper suddenly appeared through the top slot.
He grinned. "Well, what say this great and powerful teller? 'Try again later'?"
"I hope you saved room for dessert, 'cuz you're gonna be eating your words here in a sec!" Hester blew a raspberry and took the slip between her fingers, glancing down at the answer. She didn't look up, her lips pursed.
"Well...?"
"'I thought I told you to stop contacting me again, this is your final warning you pestering gremlin'."
Linus paused, his grin dropping. "Hester, until meeting you, I've never run into a person who's received a cease and desist order from a fortune-telling machine."
