spaghetti tree
🍝🌳💘
On this fine April 1st I’d like to bring back one of my favourite April Fools jokes ever broadcast on national television: the BBC’s Spaghetti Harvest news article from 1957 [x]
TIL that one time, UK television broadcast a seemingly serious segment about spaghetti growing on trees, as an April Fools Day prank. And because spaghetti wasn't common in the UK at the time, people believed it.

Just a drawing of Hamilton (BBC Batwings) and SRG SSR's 1951-1960 logo harvesting spaghetti from the "spaghetti tree", and no, you're not viewing the image at the wrong side, i drew it this way intentionally. Of course based on one of the most well known april fools prank done by the BBC (i found out about it for the first time from a children's magazine actually).

I think now we can do the same with hamburgers.
Sketches for April Fools Day cards remember the spaghetti harvest prank and San Serriffe islands.
