This simple spaghetti with clams recipe is a quick and affordable way to enjoy a delicious seafood pasta dish. Canned clams provide a budget-friendly alternative to fresh clams while still delivering plenty of flavor. With just a handful of ingredients and minimal prep time, you can have a satisfying meal on the table in no time.
Ingredients: 1 lb spaghetti. 2 cans 10 oz canned clams, drained, juice reserved. 4 cloves garlic, minced. 1/4 cup olive oil. 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes. 1/4 cup chopped parsley. Salt to taste. Black pepper to taste. Grated Parmesan cheese optional.
Instructions: Follow the directions on the package to cook the spaghetti until it is al dente. Drain the pasta and set it aside, but save some of the water. Warm up the olive oil in a big pan over medium-low heat. Put in the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Saut for about one to two minutes, until the garlic turns golden and smells good. Put in the clams from the can and cook for another two to three minutes. Put the cooked spaghetti and chopped parsley into the bowl. If the mixture looks too dry, add some of the clam juice or pasta water that you saved. To taste, add salt and black pepper. Let the flavors blend for one more minute while you cook. If you want, you can serve it hot with grated Parmesan cheese on top.
