Y'know I don't think enough people consider why the Spamton Sweepstakes exists

Like sure

Spamton

But we know that whenever ch 2 dropped Toby thought that people wouldn't like Spamton, his playtesting leaned towards that conclusion anyways

But the Lore that we got through the Sweepstakes was always intended, things like Spamton having connections to Cat Petterz and his Cat Element Type in game and Noelle finding a hidden door nostalgic

So then, if the Lore was always planned, but the people loving Spamton wasn't, then likely the initial plan was to have most of what was revealed in the Spamton Sweepstakes in game somewhere, likely ch 3-5, but whenever ch 2 released solo Toby deigned that we needed that information now

And looking to Sweepstakes at large I realized something

In that the Sweepstakes is far more about Noelle than Spamton

Which that tracks right?

Noelle is one of the 4 Main Characters, the one we've gotten the least time with

Probably the most butchered of the Main Characters at that, being seen as little more than a Love Interest to Susie, especially around the time ch 2 actually came out

To use personal anecdotal evidence, Most of my friends, irl and Online, did not like Noelle because of her simple status as Love Interest, even finding her annoying

Which I didn't much care for, because even back then she was my favorite by far

Hell, we even see this in the general consensus around Noelle, treating her crush on Susie as her largest personality trait

With that in mind, and Toby likely being aware of this problem growing, at least in the Western Fandom, of one of his Main Characters being seen as little more than an Annoying Love Interest, then I fully believe that's when the idea of all this extra Lore concerning Kris, Dess, and especially Noelle needed to be released

In summary, the Spamton Sweepstakes is a partial Noelle rewrite to recontextualize her, from why she loves Susie, to her Nostalgia-focused personality, and even down to her compulsions to search for Dess or keep herself distracted

Makes me wonder if the release version of ch 2 will also be partially rewritten to help Noelle out, or if later chapters may overcompensate

Say what you will, but Suselle will have to be addressed at some point, and if he goes too hard in one direction, that arc may feel incomplete

Less so if the ship falls apart but this post isn't about that

I have finally completed an animation that includes Noelle and Spamton simply breaking it down on the dance floor.

My first silly animation with these two skrinkly dinklie doo goobol doo! I love Noelle and Spamton. Not as a together ship, but as best pals.

Based on the Spamton Sweepstakes, I also want to make it very CLEAR that the white egg story and the BLUE circle are not related.

Sorry. Not sorry. I’m very canon ground. You can be in flagship/crackship space if you want. 😆 I genuinely see Spamton more as a friend, or a long lost doting parental/uncle figure to her when appropriate and needed.

Somewhere among all of the timelines of this series, one timeline has the two to have finally meet and are now chill vibez all around.

To celebrate the occasion of year of the Spamton and year of the Noelle Holiday of the DELTARUNE series. They friends. They should meet and be really good, quirky FRIENDS! 🤩🫶

love how small he is. i could crush him like a bug but then i would feel bad about it and i would never be able to live knowing that i crushed him. like a bug
