Sparx walked down the many corridors of Skeleton King’s system of caves. It was dark and dreary, but he didn’t seem to mind too much. He finally stopped at a small room and turned to look inside. He noticed an orange monkey sitting on a bed. “You wanted to see me.”
Mandarin turned his head up and smiled. “Oh yes, come in, come in.” He slowly stood up and crossed his arms behind his back as he watched Sparx take a step inside and look around the room. “Have you been warming up to your new ranks, Sparx? I figured one of you would eventually see to our way of thinking.”
Sparx nodded his head before smiling. “I feel like a new way of thinking has been unlocked inside of me. I look forward to seeing what you all are capable of now that I’m on your side.”
“And I feel the same about you,” Mandarin said as he took a few steps forward. “I imagine that there is a lot of power within those magnets that you haven’t harnessed while with the Hyperforce. I’d love to see what you can do with them.”
“Well, send me out there and I’ll show you,” Sparx said.
“I appreciate the enthusiasm, but we’ll do that in due time,” Mandarin said. Mandarin slowly grabbed Sparx’s hand. “There is... another matter I wish to attend to.”
Sparx immediately stared down at Mandarin’s hand. He paused for several moments before looking back up at him. “Another matter?”
“Upon hearing about your switch to Skeleton King’s side, it made me think about my past with the Hyperforce,” Mandarin said. “My relationship with the rest of the monkeys, and... my thoughts on you.” Mandarin rubbed up Sparx’s arm. “I will admit, Sparx, I do find myself drawn towards you. And now that you think like I do, I can’t hide these feelings.”
Sparx put his hand up and rested it on Mandarin’s hand. “I never really considered you to be the type to have these types of ‘feelings’.”
Mandarin chuckled. “I am full of surprises. Surely you would’ve expected that.”
Sparx smirked. “Yeah, I expected that. I can never predict anything from you. So... what do you intend on doing with these feelings?”
“I have a few ideas,” Mandarin said as he took his hand off of Sparx’s arm and raised it up to Sparx’s chin. He rubbed it before going up to his cheek. He leaned forward and connected his lips with Sparx’s.
Sparx’s heart began to beat harder as he watched Mandarin get closer. He pressed himself closer, wrapping his arm around Mandarin and wrapping his tail around his waist.
Mandarin smiled as he kissed Sparx. He didn’t know what reaction to expect from Sparx, but was thrilled with Sparx’s interest. He finally separated the kissed and stared at Sparx for a moment. “What do you think?”
“I never thought I’d find you so attractive,” Sparx said, chuckling.
“That’s the answer I was hoping for,” Mandarin said, smirking.
