First of all: highly recommended!
2nd: This is not your ordinary spanish restaurant. And not the place when you are just looking for a calssic main dish.
But: It´s a wonderful place if you want to enjoy a nice evening with friends, good catalan tapas and excellent wine!
The food is typical for the catalan area, very authentic and everything tastes great. I was there twice now and both times it was awesome. Their foie gras is very good, the catal breads are not a classic dinner dish but still great, the steak tatar is very nice…and so on. A small detail but an exciting one is the fresh thyme on the foie - never had this herbal experience before.
Then the drinks: simply wow! Tim, waiter, husband of the chef and drink-specialist (former bar chef e.g. of the Amano bar in Berlin) is a real expert when it comes to high quality cava or other aperitifs, spanish whites and reds and a lot of other drinks you may like to enjoy. For example a shot of Bulleit rye whisky if you need something for your stomache („I think my stomache has to be cured a little bit, maybe a shot of Bulleit helps?!“ - it does help indeed).
Talking red: The wines from Vega Aixala are outstanding. Hold your nose into the glas, smile, drink a bit, smile again… that´s how a wine should be made.
You are into g&t? No worries. Tim can take care of this as well.
