While I'm very fortunate and blessed to be able to travel and ski many different resorts all over the world, I often ski or ride solo and have to learn to navigate a mountain on my own. This time around at Whistler Blackcomb, I was real fortunate to meet Greg from Boston on the chairlift. Greg moved out to Whistler for the season to take a break from life in the city, after he had a nice exit from a business he built. Ski racer by training, he's an absolute ripper and knew the mountain real well, clocking in more than 100 days and very close 2 million in vert (he should be able to hit 2mil before leaving Whis to go back to Boston). We immediately hit it off and spent a few days touring what was left accessible on Blackcomb. Here we are ready to drop into Spanky's Chute off Blackcomb glacier... just enough snow left to cover most of the rocks and give us a nice entrance into Ruby Bowl. I wanted to get a 'timer-snap' of us just before we dropped in, as to me, this is what skiing is all about... You meet a like-minded individual who shares your passion for the sport and just go on an adventure together. Hope to see Greg again next season up in Canada and show him around some of my favourite mountains.
