In your last message about how all cybertronians are related, and how none of you are really related, you said that all of you have a different unique CNA or something like that from the allspark. So what does this mean for twins like Dreadwing and Skyquake? Are they choosing to be twins or something?
Ah, I didn’t mention that. They are an example of a very rare phenomenon called Spark twins, which result from a split Spark. Normally Sparks are created one at a time, each with a unique code that will create CNA once it programs metal into a body for itself. Sometimes though, a single Spark will split in two after it rises from the AllSpark, and each new Spark will form its own body. The CNA of the two frames will be identical, which is why Dreadwing and Skyquake looked alike. They had different personalities of course - Skyquake was by far the more hotheaded of the two. Spark twins are truly related to one another, in a way that no other Cybertronians are.
Regarding choosing ones siblings, there are many bonds of elective kinship that people can choose. Some are based on affection, or a feeling of brotherhood, while others, like Trines, are sworn bothers-in-arms. That doesn’t make you related, but it does make you kin. The popular term nowadays, since everyone likes Earth, is family.
