Day 6: Clean your room.
Veejay
In all honesty, I don’t have my own room, but I do share a room with my siblings. However, looking at the room, I did realise that I haven’t done some cleaning of my bed and the space to the left of the window. While I can’t touch the stuff of my siblings, the calendar did allow me to accomplish this long overdue cleaning of my bed, the surface and the space near the window.
I first focused on the surface of the drawers. It was very messy, filled with items both value and no value. It has been a while since it has been cleared as well. I threw the trash from it, and kept the too valuable items (ie. the hard drive). And here’s the result of the cleanup:
Afterwards, I changed my bed sheets, as they have not been replaced in a long while. Thinking about it, it was long overdue. I grabbed a new sheet and fixed up my bed. Not much.
The horror was the “mountain” of tissues needed to be thrown out from the area pointed in the first picture. There were two bags full of it... and it was disgusting... When I realised the magnitude, I decided to pull the bed back to better sweep the area. Lo and behold, some old things dropped accidentally are there. Dusty and dirty. This was also long overdue, because I have been told to clear the area up for months now. You wouldn’t want to see it. This activity gave me time to do so, as well.
Now it’s all cleared up, and looks better than it was before, though my siblings are quite messy. It felt quite relieving. When I slept on the new layer, it felt nice. Knowing that it is replaced. Cleaning your room may seem easy, it’s not. The ending however, can spark joy, as you get to relax in a cleaner environment than the one before you cleaned it. It gives you an atmosphere and feeling of peace of mind. That feeling similar to zen, but achieved in a different way. Give yourself some time to do this, or plan it. Better late than never, right? It sparked joy in my sleep.
