When Jared feels close to running out of ideas or reaching dm-ing burnout, he turns to Mads for help. She's a pretty rad writer and doesn't face the usual ridiculousness of "can I seduce this" / "can I steal this" / "can I stab that" and so has a bunch more fresher ideas to throw around. He also recounts the most recent antics the party gets up to every time. Fresh eyes are good for examining a situation, yknow?

okay but. never. and i mean NEVER bring up anyone ever asking ‘can i stab that’ when mads is around cause she WILL ask why you didnt let them stab it. always let them stab, jared. stabbing is always accepted (hashtag just as much as mads is a fanfiction writer shes also a thriller writer so stabbing is always in her mind tbh)

you can also tell when jared has had her helping with a campaign, cause to the players it feels a little bit different. nobody questions it straight up out loud, they might off hand mention that there was “something new” or whatnot, and i can definitely imagine at least kit being like “mmhhmm yep something new indeed” cause they know whats happening here+ after a game where something she helped with, mads hears from both jared and kit how the game went down, both with. rather different ways of telling what happened. and its just hilarious to her tbh

Jared (we with Kit's assistance) making a cute af little gintendo bunker out of dorm room with extra fairy lights, scented candles and copies of the newly released let's go pikachomp and let's go eeree, with brand new bubblesaur and vaporee plushes he'd bought for this evening. She comes in and it's just an aesthetic heaven tbh

kit would walk her back to dorm from like. idk a day of arting in the art room and then theyre like “oh heck i forgot something” and take their leave so mads needs to enter in the dorm alone and shes like ‘great i can just crawl into bed and sleep like forever’ but oh whats this? so many blankets and cute fairy lights and jared’s scent of ham is masked behind the candles (im sure they did this on purpose LOL) and hes sitting there holding like a plate of kit-made cookies being like “hey so i heard youve had rough time recently how about we go catch some critterpies”

mads would probably cry. from all the happy emotions and pure exhaustion and jared just being so nice and he tries to not freak out by bringing her into the fort and giving her cookies and a blanket and all the plushies to hug and aaaa

17 for the angst prompts with Asagao!Pixi and Asagao!Jared?

17. “Why can’t you realize that I’m falling for you? No wait, I’ve already fallen. But you didn’t catch me.”

”Whydon’t you ever talk to me?”

    She didn’t answer tohim, only tried to focus back on cleaning the meeting notes off from the blackboard.She hadn’t wished for cleaning duty today, especially not together with Jared,but things just didn’t really seem to go the way she liked at all these days.

    Pixi sighed.

    “We do talk. We aretalking right now.”

    “You know what I mean.”

    She looked over hershoulder, watching the tall boy across the room as he swept the floor of theclubroom. Even with such a simple item as a broom in his hand Jared moved likehe jumped straight out of a dream, his movements were rivaling the fluidness ofa dancer, his quiet and light step matching that of a ninja.

    Sometimes it was nowonder he had slipped away from her.

    It took a moment forhim to catch up to the fact that she was staring, the pair of blue eyes lookingup from the floor and into her direction. Pixi could have sworn she saw a hintof green in the dim lighting of the room before he blinked it away.

    “We barely share morethan greetings in the hallways. Most of the time not even those. You talk toeveryone else in the club but me.”

    She could feel a lump startingto form on her throat. It would have been a blatant lie on her end to deny it,it was probably extremely obvious to even all the outsiders in the situation,but she still couldn’t bring herself to say it out loud.

    “You only do it when it’snecessary. It’s very tiring.”

    Pixi let out anunintended laugh, half a second after the sound started pouring out frombetween her lips already regretting it. Jared raised a brow at her, his eyesnarrowing just a little. Clearly he didn’t find the statement even nearly asamusing as she apparently did.

    “It’s not funny, youknow.”

    It wasn’t. It reallywasn’t, and she was also aware of it. For the same reasons as he was, as well.

    But at the same time,on some absurdly awful level, it was very hilarious, at least to her.

    “You think it’s tiring?”

    She lowered the blackboarderaser from her hand, brushing a coil of blue hair behind her ear before shefully turned to face the school’s famous playboy. “You don’t think it’s tiringthat I don’t know how to handle you?”

    The confusion was veryclear on Jared’s face, but he didn’t say anything. It was only building up thefrustration in her.

    “Why can’t you realizethat I’m falling for you?”

    She could feel herchest tighten again. There it was, the feeling of saying those words tosomeone. I like you. I love you. I wantto be with you. I have fallen for you.

    Even worse than saying thosethings to someone’s face was to see them not being able to react the way youwanted them to. Given, he had a reason, he had someone else, but it still didn’tpush away the need to see him smile, maybe laugh a little, and return thosewords, those feelings back to you.

    Actually, even sayingthose words was a lie. It was a lie she couldn’t keep inside anymore, even ifit was never meant to be, at least she could be honest with him about it. Maybeit made everything worse, maybe it made things even messier than they alreadywere, more ‘tiring’ as Jared put it, but she had to get them out.

    “No wait, I’ve already fallen.”

    She did, a long time ago. The very first day, in fact.She didn’t tell anyone, it wasn’t worth mentioning. Of course it was obviousthat it happened, which girl in school wouldn’t have fallen for the popularplayboy act that had become Jared’s speciality since forever ago?

    But just like everyone else, she was just one of themany. One that could only hope. Even as friends, as members of the same club,there was no hope.

    He always had someone else.

    And she was tired of it.

    “But you didn’t catch me.”

    He caught someone else. In arms where she would neverbe in. She had accepted it, at least part of it, knowing things would neverchange. Maybe she didn’t want them to change either. He seemed happy, switchinghis ladies on a weekly basis probably more often than he did with his socks,and she didn’t want to be just one of them. She wanted to be the only one.

    And it was too obvious for both of them that it wasnever going to happen.

    “…I’m sorry.”

    The only words that followed the silence.

    Pixi smiled shortly become she whipped herself aroundto face the blackboard again, picking the eraser back into her hands. She triedfocusing on cleaning the board again, trying to blink away the tears stingingin the corners of her eyes.

     “No you’re not,” she whispered to herself as she couldhear the weak sounds of the broom brushing against the floor again, knowing theconversation was going to be forgotten by the brunet as fast as it had originallybegun.

a!mads most often communicates with family through skyte while shes still in the academy, and for the most part she does it when shes alone in the form tbh. occasionally kit is there, but jared is like. that one other person allowed to be there. especially after he learns about her family troubles, so even tho mads isnt going to allow him on camera, hes just sitting there out of view for mental support, just listening in even tho he cant understand a word, but ready to step in if needed tbh

He also tries to learn either English or Finnish to get a better understanding of what's being said? He's not very good at it, but damnit he's trying!

If its English, he asks Shane to tutor him with it?

First time he came in during a call it was entirely accidental, but he saw Mads was distressed and so stuck around until after the call was over to try and help, and well. It became a thing where if he doesn't sit in on calls, Kit does, so there's always moral support there if she needs it.

ive been thinking about this since last night, but i high key wanna say that if asagao!mads turned out to be aro instead of demi, it would happen in the sparkleharper route tho? cause like. well 1. for added angst obviously, but 2. jared would like. take it so well in the end tho? he might be a really romance-centric guy and whatnot, but if his partner just wants to netflix and chill without any of the chill and be without the romantic relationship stuff? hell yeah he'd be down for that tho

ive been watching so much jared playing zelda games again recently cause i need to feel better, and now all my brain wants to give to me is sparkleharper as zilda and lank for halloween tbh mmmmm (cause i mean like. the sweet sparkly hero and his princess? sign me upppp)

Jared's like. I'll be able to put this together easy-peasy tbh, and so he works on his costume alone (his sparkles act the part of Naevi)

But Kit catches wind of it and they're like. Okay. Let's blow his gotdamn mind.

Because in some routes Kit works as a costumer for the film club? And so I'm game to say this happens on the didyouknowfeathers/ sparkleharper route. And so Kit decides okay. We're going for this incarnation of zilda let's work on heckin distracting myself!!

They keep Mads very much involved in the project, there are regular fitting sessions that jARED CANNOT ATTEND UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. He's seen thier d&d work, so Jared is. Quietly excited??

But at the night of the Halloween party he's. Completely floored.

His Lank obviously looks great, he's friends with costumers and ect because of his modelling.

But Kit knows how to make an impressive cosplay both quickly and on a budget (I mean, they work with the film club. You can't imagine that gets tons of funding.) and if you give them ample time, and enough research, it will look. Stunning.

And whilst everyone admires Mads's, Kit's just in the corner as a fairly impressive rendition of Enn from Nokemon. They've even crafted a mint green wig that defies gravity, just like Enn's. They're quietly pleased with themself.

Also, you can't tell me that pictures don't happen.

Asagao!Jared knows the language of flowers. Knabenbauer flowers is a family business of sorts, of course he knows the basics.

Shane might look after the rooftop garden. But that doesn't mean he knows much beyond the basics that most people know.

And Kit tends to use flower language in thier work- especially stuff that's supposed to be more subtle vent peices.

But he starts noticing a trend in some of the flowers they use. It's not that he goes out of his way to study what they're working on.

But he sees them often enough. Visiting Mads, Kit will often have thier sketchbook out and be studying those flowers and how they look.

Dark red carnations. Purple hydrangea. Marigolds. Willow. Daffodils.

In one case that vaguely concerned him, literally burning daisies.

He asks them if they're okay. They say they're fine. He's certain that they're not completely truthful.

He considers telling them that he knows about the language of flowers. That he understands the hidden meanings they're weaving in.

He does eventually tell Shane that it's something he should look into. That it may help him understand Kit better.

His girlfriend's roommate is hurting. He can tell that much.

He hopes that Shane will listen. Perhaps then he could do something.
