Brunch with Stacey at Sisters, down the street from my new place. Drinks good, service okay, food kind of meh. Want to come back and try the burger, since I'd love to have a local burger to love. GORGEOUS space.

I know, right? I just posted about this. Confused.

'cause there could be a light dusting of snow on the ground and Virginia schools would close for two days. Granted, no one in the state could drive in snow for shit, but still--totally ridiculous. Did everything shut down that time we got 2' in 12 hours? Is there some reservoir of snow that just didn't make it to northwest Queens? Like, the snow doesn't even fully blanket the ground of my building's reasonably sizable trash/etc. area. I'm flummoxed. 

And I'm really pissed on behalf of all the people who are trapped at work/lose pay for not being able to get to work/ride the trains for warmth/etc. This just reeks of the city shutting down because the rich 'burbs don't have enough snowplows.
