small headcanon, and forgive me if it’s inaccurate/wrong, because i still have yet to read any of the DH books or play the second game but, i feel that corvo definitely would have had an extremely pivotal role in raising emily after the events of DH. he might not have been of any ‘importance,’ but it’s evident that he spent a lot of time with jessamine so he probably would have guided and taught emily with all that he knew from that (along with how to fight and protect herself of course). basically, corvo definitely played mom and dad to emily. / @sparrowdaughter

                    Ms. Withers’ eyes pried & pried & pried; & Corvo at each court GATHERING would be sure to seat the Empress far as he could from those lusting, longing hues. & now, he sat, with tired arms resting against the table’s ledge, fingertips toying with his DRINK. It would be over SOON. A sigh left his lips, & he drank quietly from the crystal. 

                    The bottom of his glass hit the table with loud CLUNK. Then, swiftly, he reached out, SLAPPING the glass from his daughter’s hands before she could bring it to her lips. Across the floor, it shattered, wine staining the tiles. “I----I am so so sorry,” he lied, standing abruptly from his seat to pace behind her, & then beside her, pausing with a hand to his forehead, “oh----oh EMILY.” He then purposely tripped, KNOCKING a chair to the ground, before taking a seat on the table itself, leaning back & then FORTH.
