Sparta seems to have forgiven us for this mornings vet visit, tho.
Just spent almost 100$ to find out my cat is just fat. smdh
Sparta developed a lump on his chest a few weeks ago. I was really concerned because Abby, our Jack Russel, developed a very similar lump in the same place and it lead to a very painful death for her when it burst when no one was home.
So finding out its just a fatty lump and not cancer? I'm fucking ECSTATIC.
I've come to terms that I'm going to loose Sparta soon. Well, sort of. I'm comING to terms with the fact that I'm going to loose him soon. Hes 16 next month. That is pretty damn old for a cat.
Hes going blind. Its gotten to the point that if I work late and forget to turn on a light in the front room before sundown, he will start SCREAMING because he cant see. I can only imagine what some of my callers have thought when he starts up while I'm on a call. He sounds like he is being tortured.
Hes not as active as he used to be and even zoomies time happens less often. Rosie gets him to play more but he still prefers to cuddle up and lay on her rather than chase her around.
Hes lost weight. Not drastically and hes still eating and drinking ok so docs not concerned. But over the last 6 years hes gone from over 15lbs to 11.8 as of today.
So ya. I'm extremely happy to hear that this lump isn't anything to be too concerned about. I'm so so glad to hear he likely will be tormenting me and my family for a few more years.
And he does seem to be getting a bit more chill in his old age. Ya, he did try to kill the doc and nurse today. And me. And Rosie..............
BUT
His murderous rage wasn't quite as white hot as it usually is. Nurse was able to hold most of him down with a towel and I was able to hold his front legs open so doc could get a sample of the lump to check. After they were done he sat there growling at me but still let me pet his head and he took a few treats, too. We actually left without anyone, including me, getting bit or scratched! I was actually prepared to have to leave him to get sedated just to get a sample of it.
So all seems to be good for now. Hes getting older, true, but he seems to be too much of a bastard to let anything really get to him.
I think the Reaper might be as afraid of him as everyone else is...
Gave the kids their Christmas presents.
I think they're happy.
🥺🥺🥺
Finally got video of this!
He's been doing this to her off and on for a while but always seemed to know when I was trying to take a video and stopped just as I got my phone out.
He's so cute sometimes. He loves her so much but doesn't want anyone to know.
Oh come ON.
Look at ALL the space they COULD be using.
Look how close they decided to scrunch themselves up against me.
*sigh*
Sick day with the bbys
