Today’s #SaturdayArtifact is this atlatl replica, pronounced atal-atal or at-latal) Atlatls were the predecessors of the bow and arrow and were used throughout the world. At one end is a socket or hook where a dart or spear is attached. The atlatl allowed the hunter to throw a spear farther and faster than if thrown by hand.
