Textbook: Calculate the Spearman correlation after converting the grades into ranks.
Me: *does so*
Me: rs = 1 - 6 (ED^2) / n (n^2 - 1)
Me: rs = 1 - 1.93 = -0.93
Textbook: rs = +0.97
Me: *calculates spearman again* -0.93
Textbook: nope its +0.97
Me: goddamn authors I gave you the benefit of the doubt but no, you had to go and fuck up the practice questions I am using to gauge my ability to do math and thereby be confident that I will pass the exam. You have failed me, my fellow students, and most importantly yourselves.
