absolute children i love them:
whenever he’s really excited, reid has a tendency to start talking really, really fast. some people can’t even understand him when he gets going.
becca never misses a word. she’s used to it because connie will do the exact same thing.
sometimes reid will watch doctor who with her and they’ll start trading fan theories and explanations and they’re talking so fast becca is surprised their jaws don’t fall off.
it’s like understanding a different language but not being able to speak it.
but she loves it so much and she loves watching the two of them together.
whenever she’s in a good mood becca tends to hum or sing under her breath, anything from the song she just heard on the radio to little tunes she makes up on her own.
once or twice reid’s caught her humming pieces from the beethoven recording he left at her apartment when he ran out on a case.
he conveniently forgets to take it back.
becca also goes all in for holidays, because she feels like it’s a small thing she can do to keep constance’s childhood normal and fun.
everything except valentines day but that’s a whole one shot in and of itself.
she always volunteers to take connie and her school friends trick or treating, and the kids all love her because she doesn’t mind walking for hours and hours until it’s really late at night.
it’s not that hard to convince reid to come with them because he makes connie feel a lot safer, only he has to rush to meet up with them because he was late at work and couldn’t change into a costume.
which becca has obviously prepared for. thoroughly.
she has her hair done up in a bun and has an apron and a peacoat.
and every single one of connie’s friends is dressed up as a dalmation.
it’s a pretty big hit around the neighborhood.
