Thinking about a bit of biology for the alien plant people. Plus a bit of cape/mask thoughts, I don't think it's worth bothering with though. It's too complex for a daily use item.

They have arms a bit longer than a human and shorter strong legs. No need for a large digestive system, and so the lungs take up the exyra space. I was thinking about bird lungs and respiration for the people. They live in thin air so why not have the most efficient lungs. There is always air circulating within their lungs, perfect for efficient oxygenation.

I mean, it's way more complex than that, I'll throw an animation from google as an example of how the system works. Basically the exhale moves to a holding space before being exhaled.

The A-Lurian Alphabet

The modern A-Lurian language is written as a series of symbols. When translated into English letters, it would look something like this ->

Each letter has its own distinct shape, but it is written in a vertical style with interlocking letters, and as many tails touching as possible. These lines of word are then organized into narrow columns.

A-Lurian’s believe this is the most harmonious way of writing, and when a line is finished at the bottom of a page, one simply moves to the next line to continue reading. Most texts are written with columns reading from left to right, like modern English. But some A-Lurian’s will go right to left (this is prominent in Elder texts as the direction flipped sometime after the Great Epoch).

Doubled letters like in A-ddison’s name are placed beside one another in a row to save space and time. Grammatical instruments like . , : are not used in A-Lurian. There is no breathing involved when reading the language. If a stop is necessary, stagger the line down about two symbols and continue on. The hyphen is used, but is shaped more like ~, and is used exclusively in naming convention.

Spoken A-Lurian is very fast, and (like the written version), involves very little breathing or space between words. To non-speakers it literally just sounds like really complicated gibberish mixed with some sounds.

A-ddison has a really easy time with English, not only because she was originally from Earth, but because the Earth alphabet and A-Lurian alphabet are very similar. Naturally she still tends to write vertically even when using English letters, but has also picked up an unusual style of cursive which mixes the styles together and confuses her teachers to no end.

Modern A-Lurian is very different from the ancient language of Alcura, which had three alphabets, and thrice as many symbols.

Werewolf/Hybrid Development Change

So I just realized that the whooole reason why the vampires couldn’t taste was because their sense of smell was... worse... so like...

werewolves & hybrids have an AMAZING sense of smell. So rather than saying that hybrids & werewolves don’t eat human food due to the fact that they CAN’T taste food, we have edited that fact to it being because their sense of taste is too powerful. They taste it TOO MUCH.

Oh yeah, and this does change according to which type of hybrid you are.

Kyle can taste/smell the best of all of the hybrids because... well, he’s him.

The vampire-heavy ones have a worse sense of smell & taste. It’s ALMOST tolerable for them.

The wolf-heavy ones have an AMAZZZZIIIING sense of smell & taste.

[SPECIES DEVELOPMENT] - Relationship / Family Dynamics

I figure it’s important to point out that different species in this series have wildly different relationship and family dynamics.

Examples: - Nuclear families - Single parent families - Families with no parents / siblings raised by older siblings - Children raised by guardians or other family members not parents - Families with more than two parents - Families with different species / half species offspring - Queerplatonic relationships - Couples with no children - Friends raising children together - Couples who got married for financial status / benefits - Harems / polygamous - Villages / herds raising children as a collective group - Children raising themselves

Most humanoid species typically are monogamous but it typically depends on the individual. Humans tend to remain monogamous but fae are more likely to be in polyamorous relationships. Witches are normally more open to polyamorous relationships but angels are more often than not monogamous. Centaurs tend to be in harems because of the horse aspect of their biology. Naga are often in polyamorous relationships but they also raise hatchlings with friends. Selkies are more inclined to be in monogamous relationships.

Nonhuman species are more tricky, especially the rarer kinds. Dragons often are monogamous, mating for life but it’s not unusual to see two dragons who are friends raising a clutch together (same goes for phoenixes). Most of these species don’t really have the option to find a preferred mate. Unicorns, pegasi, and alicorns are all horse species so they’re typically in harems. Manticores live in prides, so harems again.

RYAZAX was raised by Ramswerth (jewel drake) but also Lirva (wyvern), Scarak (naga), Yansur (mermaid), Nerus (elf), and Cassidy (changeling), so she has lots of guardians.

LILITH is an orphan who was raised by her barrack after her parents died.

MORGANA was raised by their father after their mother died.

TAYLOR is an elf who was adopted by a human family.

CORA is a witch who was raised in a coven of witches.

FIN is a changeling who was raised by a witch couple who didn’t particularly care their child got swapped out.

ERIKIA is a Nephilim who got adopted by a lycan and naga couple.

CORRISSA is a selkie who’s trapped in a marriage with a fisherman.

REMSLIEL is an angel who was basically adopted into the royal family, excluding the title.

LIRVA mates with TYRANNIS not because of love but insurance that if her entire clutch dies, she has a fallback plan.

KABARAK mated with RAMSWERTH years back just because she wanted kids but didn’t have a mate.

AKOL is sold into slavery and forms a queerplatonic bond with another centaur on the farm.

ISABELLA and FAUST are in a queerplatonic relationship (Isabella is married to someone).

ZARA and BRUTUS have a... whatever kind of relationship they have. (I’m not really sure yet ^^;).

Basically out with all the nuclear family and constant monogamous romantic relationships!!! There’s more to be explored!!!

I fucking love developing species so here are some vamps

There are 2 kinds of vampires the ones that are more humanoid and the ones who are more animalistic

The human/bat vampires

Are the more common one .They were either born,turned or in rare cases cursed to be vampires.They look like regular humans with only slight changes like sharper ears/nails, glowing eyes and of course fangs.They have a good nose so that's why in stories vampires stay away from garlic.These types of bloodsuckers often lure their prey rather than hunt it down.They can stay outside in the daylight for a long period of time but should stay in the shade non the less since the sun doesn’t immediately turn them to dust but rather burns them.They can turn into bats and back.In their bat form they are around half the size of their normal forms.They don’t need to drink blood every day and can enjoy normal food as well.

The bat/human vampire

They look more like bats and are feared by humans and vampires alike.These vampires were all human/bat vampires once.Unlike their counterpart they are hunters,what caused them to develop more animalistic features.They not only look less human but have also less humanity.They never leave a victim alive on purpose and have more brutal methods of killing and eat the whole body.They are usually stronger and bigger than normal vampires but act more on instinct then thought. They can either turn into human sized bats or into a human. The human form doesn’t last for a long time. They are more sensitive to light and will never be seen at day

The A-Lurian

If anyone is unaware (I haven’t said much on it so far in Stsrchild), but A-ddison’s people do have a name:

They are A-Lurian.

A-Lurian people are actually evolved from bioluminescent, highly intelligent reptiles. They are naturally cold blooded, and weren’t built for living long term in space. The planet of Alcura before the Great Epoch was very humid (a rainforest climate) with a thick atmosphere and severe weather. It had long nights and short days, which is why most A-Lurian’s have the unique blue hair and bright facial/body markings as to be easier to see in the dark. The perception filters and other attributes like tails and antennae are left over evolutionary traits which the early A-Lurian’s used to master their use of telepathy, camouflage, and navigation in an impenetrable jungle environment.

The A-Lurian people stuck on the Mothership are actually in the process of re-evolving, as they’ve been nomadic and planet-less for over a thousand years. Less and less young are being born with their ancestors land-based traits. The natural bioluminescence of all Aliens has grown brighter with each passing generation, as it’s the only way for their kind to keep warm without a hot atmosphere, leading to them being very, very bright without something on top of it. Most young A-Lurian’s don’t even have access to their perception filters anymore. They have one skin, which covers their inner stardust, and they can’t change it besides small things like eye color or markings. A-ddison was an unusual exception to this little genetic quirk when found out, as she can change herself however she’d like so long as she has the energy and focus to hold it in place. For most, shifting was replaced with other technology allowed abilities, like levitation (not a natural talent, btw).

The star-glass was the most important evolution between Alcura and Mothership. It’s the technology which allows Alien’s to levitate, use mind-probes, translate languages, and chart new paths to different planets on the mission to find Utopia.
