I was terrified too before my first day, you won't get much sleep and the first hours will be rough for your nerves but very fast you'll realize that you can do it and do it well :)

I fucked up most of my semesters in college so.

But when the situation gets out of control, you MUST tell the administration that your students are awful and get other people in charge to stick with you. Parents usually don’t care/are in no position to do anything, but if other teachers, principal, supervisors get in their way, it can restore order. (had to put it in a conversation, asks are too short. if you think it can help and you feel like copypasting my answer on your blog, would be great :)

Hey! I saw that you liked my post about latin & greek in France. Next year they won't be teached as independant subjects anymore but as an option called "ancient languages and culture" which will focus on mythology and history. Any teacher (french, history, arts...) will be free to teach it, so latin & greek teachers won't be necessary and kids won't learn to translate texts anymore. I wondered if you were interested in signal boosting the petition (feel free to repost it if you prefer). Thanks!
